You can't hear the heartbeat until you'reat least 10 weeks and even then that is early.

firstly let me say congrats
secondly please do not type in caps its a bit hard to read
and thirdly sometimes it is a bit harder to hear a heart beat around 7-8 weeks but i say if ur not bleeding or cramping ur probably fine ...it seems like ur doc isnt concerned so u can relax a little bit ...i know u have many concerns but they wouldve told you if they found a problem ...as far as the pelvic exam its just like any other pelvic exam ur gyn would do ...have u had any morning sickness or anything and make sure u take ur prenatals ...if for some reason they make you sick u can either eat with them or take them right before bed ...all else fails take 2 flinstones vitamins
lastly welcome to the site

I heard our babies heartbeat at 7 weeks. But it's different for everyone. There are a million and one factors that play into hearing a babies heartbeat. It could be too early, the ultrasound equiptment could be a little bit older, etc. Relax! You're still very early and for them to do a pap is normal. They usually look for any abnormalities, run some tests, check out your cervix, etc. They'll call you with any abnormal results. If you feel nervous, call your doc and ask if they're back yet. Sometimes it takes them a while.. PM me if you have any questions!

I had the same problem with cramping and everything, I went in and they couldnt see the baby. Then I went in the second time and couldnt find a heartbeat. Then I went in a third time and they said I was 8 weeks pregnant and they could finally hear the heartbeat. I know how you feel, Butits gonna be okay. You can order heartmonitors online, they are really expensive but you can rent the same kind they use at the doctors office for about 25 dollars a month, if it makes you feel better.

This is also my first pregnancy and I'm 20 yr old too. I was 14 weeks when I first heard the hearbeat. But that's because That was my first appt. I work in clinic so I know when the first do the pelvic exam they're checking the shape, size, and position of you uterus and they probably did a pap smear if its been a year since your last one. And yes, if something was wrong they will call. No news is usually good news. Good Luck with everything!
