I'm not saying its ok for people to break the terms of service by typing like an idiot, I'm saying it's rude for grown ass women to come in and make fun of teenage girls for making grammatical errors... So what if someone can't spell, they aren't coming to this site to be belittled for spelling. She's coming for reassurance because she's young and pregnant. I'm sorry, but I believe that it's inappropriate to taunt someone for asking a question that you and or your e-posse consider “stupid”!

I've SEEN people discuss threads in TDC and then come along to make fun of the thread together...
I'm sorry that you disagree with me, but that's what makes it my opinion!

If it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, it must be a ....smurfing duck. In every thread and "group" there are people that need to be..shown the light in what they are doing. or typing in the very least. Nicely if possi.

Thank you Mara.VWS.

Just a note to the teen mommies, a lot of us "older ladies" were teen moms at one time ourselves and are MORE than willing to help you with your genuine questions and concerns. Keep in mind though, if you ask for advice don't always expect to hear what you want to hear. No everyone is going to be positive about everything all the time. Just be prepared and handle it with as much grace and maturity as possible.

With that said...some things like the "super stupid slang" and TyPiiNg LiiKe ThiiS are against the rules and just flat out annoying.

Its one thing to ask people nicely not to TyPe LiiiKE DIIIsss....(Ex: "Can you please not type that way? it's very hard to read)
Its quite another to act like a huge flaming bitch, i.e "I didn't even read that because I cant understand a word, learn to type moron" which is a pretty standard response.
Regardless of whether or not its against the rules, you dont need to be a jerk while pointing it out.

You be awesome!

I think there is a fine line between bluntness and rudeness. Some certain situations call for a blunt answer. Even if it's not always what the OP wants to hear.

I agree, but honestly I haven't seen very many "adults" come into threads and say that, what I have seen is teens do it.

My e-posse. LOL.
Grow up darling. You can have an opinion, and I can have mine.
You could of came into this thread and just said "I agree Mara."
Instead you targeted people who you don't even know. That is what creates drama on this site.

I was using the word "your" in a broad contest..
I never remember saying your name, or any name for that matter.
I actually did not post my opinion to cause drama.. You quoted me and argued so I replied.
I could have just said "I agree Mara" much like you could have not quoted my post and called me out.. It really goes both ways.
Either way, I'm dropping it now because I don't want to muck up this post with any more of this. If you have something more to say, you can PM me

No Need to Pm you..
I wasnt arguing with you. I was clearly stating that you can't claim TDC girls are the reason for drama in the teen section which you were.
Have a great Thanksgiving!

Riiiiight. I don't hang out in TDC.. I just know how some people operate around this site.
If you have anything else to say, you can PM me. Or I guess you could just come back and edit your post once again

This is actually a nice topic....can we please not get THIS sent to TDC????

I agree. We could be more understanding. *and really, a lot of us could be.* We all have our moments, but its not that hard to just click back out of the topic thats bugging us and just not return.

Mara I agree with you completely and I have something to say to the girls that get bother when the new girls wriit3 Liike diis. That kind of writing it's popular in the internet (chatting, myspace, ect..). It's not there fault they write like that on the internet, when something is "cool" that's what they are going to do. I personally don't write like that but when chatting I do tend to make words shorter. It's not like these girls are going to write an essay for school like that, there is not need for the kind of responses they get. And hopefully all you understand this and stop all the drama about the spelling, When you don't understand, don't read it and ask the person to re-write it better in a nice way.

Iagree with you hun. Im 18 , and not much older then a 15-17 year old girl.and dont know alot of what im doing sometimes. My mom had mi 18 years ago, and alot is different now, so i love this site for the simple fact i can just ask someone for their advice, opinions*sp?* I also like being able to answer a question that i can answer from mi experiance of being preggo and having mi baby girl.
Im glad so far I havent gotten into an arguement with anyone yet, except for some people having a problem with the way i type MY and ME..i spell it mi..its a habit ive had for years, since i was in the 7th grade..mi means me or my in spanish. It doesnt make mi less educated or anything, and i feel like, imnot at work, or at school, why do i need to type %100 proper..I just thought it was silly.
Thanks for posting this topic. I hope some of the fighting and drama starts, but hey, were females, lol, and most females on the site are hormonal

when i see that typing (dAt tyPiNG) i get a headache... and i just don't reply b/c i feel like they're speaking in another language.

it's a horrible disadvantage for the people who come on here and type like that b/c a LOT of people simply can't understand what they're saying.

it doesn't particularly annoy me when i see it-- it just embarasses me that they're willing to express themselves in such a confusing way as if they expect people to understand them. (i mean, they might as well be speaking russian or something).

w/out a doubt, typing like that (can i call it ghetto-typing?) makes a person look uneducated, ignorant, and for a person like me, i just don't have the spare time or energy to try and decipher it. my eyes glaze over and i move on.

when i see the negative responses to that typing, i completely understand, but i also know that being rude probably won't do anything but make the person ghetto typing feel defensive and they're probably going to continue to type like that as a statement against the attack, thus effectively alienating themselves from virtually everyone on here.

IF i really wanted to communicate w/ a ghetto-typer, i'd ask nicely... explain that i only read normal english and don't have the "skillz" to read through their typing, but i'd make a point to not mock it-- b/c it's something that they've-- for whatever reason, taken the effort to do and i'm pretty sure that anyone typing like that is not over the age of 18... or at least, that's what i've observed thus far.

overall, i definitely do NOT think ghetto typing is a defendable online behavior... even if people don't read the TOS for BG, they should have the basic wit to understand that the majority of the english-speaking population will NOT be able to read what they've written w/out extensive effort, which is something none of us should have to do as we already learned the correct way to read and write when we were kids in school.

it's not anyone's responsibility to expend the effort to understand such a thoroughly horrible bastardization of the written word, but it's probably best to be kind about letting them know just how unintelligable their writing is... b/c as long as they're typing like that, they are on a little island where very few educated or intelligent people will be willing to communicate with them.
