child support warrants

i can't really find what i'm looking for anywhere  

i want to know how far behind (dollar amount or how many months) a man has to be on his child support before a warrant is issued for his arrest. specifically for texas and louisiana (i'm in louisiana, baby mama #1 is in texas).

anybody know the answers, or where i can find them?

Go to your counties Job and Family Services website. Click on the child support tab they have, there should be some FAQs in there with it.

In Ohio they have to be in arrears for 104 consecutive weeks [2 years with no payment at all]

ETA: Here they lose their license first before having a warrant for non-payment.

I dont know about there, but up here if someone falls too far behind up here ( in canada) You get your license suspended and stuff like that.. But its different everywhere.

It really depends. It can be years, honestly. My ex is still delinquent (4.5 months) and he's barely even gotten a warning.

He's been over a yr delinquent and didn't even get in trouble then.

I wish that anyone could find my sisters BD. He hasn't seen his baby since he was 6 months old and nobody will tell her where he is. I tried to help but there is nothing i can do to help her find him.

Im in Louisiana also. Depends on the parish and your case worker. My sons father was almost $1000 behind, and they didnt do anything. His brother is fixin to lose his license and go to jail for contempt of court, and hes only $400 behind

ETA: We live 30 minutes from them, one parish over. The state has set giudelines, Ill look for them in a minute because Ive found them before. But it really depends on the case worker and how hard they stay on top of it.

Have yall tried a people search online? lol Sounds crazy, but theres websites where you can type in certain peoples info and it gives their last known address..
thats sad though.  

i just had our baby (he's not listed as her legal father yet, and he's never even seen her). with his oldest daughter, he's 8 months behind = over $4000.

baby mama #1 and i aren't necessarily WANTING him to get arrested, we just want a fire lit under his ass so we can get what is owed our children.

i don't know how it works in canada, but in the states, they offer parent location services. so if he's working anywhere using his social security number, they're able to find him based on that.

well, losing his license sure wouldn't do much. he doesn't have one because he has two dwis.

My brother in law doesnt have his license either. lol So they arent exactly going to be able to take it from him. The website I found doesnt have the exact limitations of being behind, but in most states its a year OR $5000 in arrears.

Doesn't matter if he doesn't have them now, when the time comes for him to get his license back he won't be able to until he gets caught up in Child Support. If he never catches up, he will never get his license back.

I know here in California it has to be at LEAST 3 full calender months before the county will do anything at all. They won't even look into it before that. My ex hasn't paid a penny since march and I am just now(on wednesday the 8th) being able to get the courts to do anything about it.

I live in San Antonio,Texas and I have two children an 11yr old daughter and a two year old son. I am also court ordered child support from their father and not receiving it. It is my understanding that they attempt to make contact after 3 months and issue a warrent after 6 months. However, if they do not have a current home or work address it may take years to find him. Unfortunately, you may have to wait till something happens like he gets pulled over and they run a warrent check. There are several websites that for a fee will run background checks on anyone you chose and include current home and work addreses and phone numbers. That may be the best way to locate him. That way you can give it to the child support office yourself. I am not sure why it says I live in Japan but I cannot seem to remove it.
