Lol no. When you move just like your baby your heart rate goes up everyones heart rate does. When the babies moves and the heart rate goes up is how you pass Non stress test. Oh and its normal for babies hear rate to be anywhere between 130-170 so your babies heart rate is great.

When I got my ultrasound at 10 weeks, the technician said the heart rate was at 180. Is that too high? I had 2 earlier ultrasounds also and I believe both times it was in the 160's then and was told that was very good.

Your babys heart rate should go up when they move, if it doesnt there is a problem. As some one else said, it is what a non-stress test is looking for; they monitor to make sure your babys heart rate changes whne they move or you have a contraction. If the heart rate stays level, they can do a more detailed test which if the heart rate still stays stable it pretty much means they have to get that baby out! (If I remember correctly, failing both tests means an emergency c-section)

So no worries! Change in heart rate =a good thing!

It's nothing to be worried about. Up until I was about 21-25 wks, my daughter's heartbeat was around 180..esp if she had been moving. My doctor told me that as the baby grows, the heartbeat slows down a little bit. When I was hooked up to the fetal monitor last week because of complications, her heartbeat ranged from 127-172...but the baseline was 140-150. My doc said that's extremely normal. Oh...I'm 31 wks Wed.

At my appointment 2 weeks ago we had to do a non stress test because Jordan's heartrate was a bit accelerated when my doctor checked me out. When I got to the Labor and Delivery area the nurse reassured me that things were most likely fine, considering I had just had an exam to check for dialation and had eaten within the past hour or so. They monitored me for 40 minutes, 20 was what they said was standard and the extra 20 was just to make sure. I was a little worried because I was watching the monitors, and I saw his heartrate hit 203. When the nurse came in she pulled the sheet out that had been recording everything and told me everything was perfectly fine. She said, "You have a reactive baby, which is good. When he moves, his heartrate goes up. In a 20 minute period, a baby should have 2 peaks in their heartrate. Your little boy had 4. He's a really active baby." So they monitored the additional 20 to make sure everything was stable, and I went home. It was scary for me at first because I had never really heard about all of that. So I know what you mean, about being scared. I was in the room by myself just staring at the wall...lol
