He wants to name our baby after his sister! or Cousin!

i told him no...i just need some help finding some cute good names &&nd hopefully it will help change his mind! i dont know why he insists that we name our baby after his family...but i need some help...what should i do? or what are some cute names?

If he has a family member that means a lot to him, maybe you can use that as a middle name.  

Are you having a boy?  or girl?

i really like different names...i wanted to name my baby if its a girl...Ja-say-duh
not spelled like that but just ounds like that....lol...so yeah original names are good too this is my first baby so i want something pretty and different

You could always use her name as a middle name. I'm honoring my Grandpa by using his middle name as my son's middle name and my husband's sister's middle name as our daughter's middle name. It works for us and makes us feel good for honoring our loved ones who passed.

I have 2 girl and one on the way I gave my 1st my moms name as a middle name her name is Shyla Jane, My second is named after no one her name is Jasmin Lace, My 3rd will be named after a cousin that pasted away her name will be Brooklyn Grace.

I suggest doing what I did and go to babynames.com and go through them ALLL individually, and make a list of what you like, and see if he likes any of them. IF not, then ask him to do it and you'll go over his list.

Brian Carlos is nice, I think it fits!! Maybe you could make the middle name Mary instead of Marylou? If you have a girl???

he wants the first name to be marylou...cuz he knows that the girls middle name has to be Grace....its a passing down name...so yeah

I like Brian Carlos - it sounds good together.

Marylou Grace could work if you wanted to stick with your tradition and honor his sister at the same time. You could always nickname her Mary or even call her Grace.

I would try to convince him to let you have the girl name sinec you have that tradition (so keep Grace as her middle name) and if its a boy agree to use Brian as the middle name to honor his cousin. 

 Or (I just saw your most recent reply) go with Brian Carlos.  I think its cute!   I love the name Carlos, I think it sounds cute!  

I dont really like Marylou though (I know someone with that name, and thats probably why I dont like it!)

I would make a list of all the names you both like.  Let the list grow for a couple weeks, buy some books and play around with spelling and name orders (1st, middle).  Then in a month or so reevaluate the list together and see if you have made progress.  I know its exciting to name the baby - but it doesnt need to be done right away - take your time!      Good luck!

Thats good advice thanks much! I think thats what we will do....i like Brian Carlos too...but hes not mexican and he thinks carlos is for mexicans..im mexican and hes native american...so its hard!
