Hey mamas! Would anyone be interested in an ERF window decal? Thought I'd offer it here first. I ordered it, it got lost in the mail and I never got it, so Laura @ Educated Mama Decals (find her on FB, she's awesome!) sent me another. The day after I got the second one my ex found the first one buried in his car! So now I have two identical decals. It's pink lettering and says "WAVE! My toddler rides rear-facing. Ask me why! And has a zebra heart in the middle. If anyone's interested I'll snap a pic. I'm just wanting what I paid, $8 shipped.

I need some tips, my fiance's neice has her 18 month old daughter in a convertible carseat that is being used as a booster (its the cosco scenera convertible seat) i want to talk to her about 1 the fact the seat is not made to be used as a booster and 2 that at 18 months the little girl really should still be harnessed...but im not sure exactly how to bring it up without causing her to get defensive...any advice appreciated!

Just casually bring it up. Say like "Hey, what kind of carseat is that" and just get her talking about it. Then ask how much the child weighs and just say, Oh well I've heard that's only for kids who are (certain age and weight) Just let her know that she can be charged with improper child seat restraint of the child. Just tell her other carseats that she can purchase, but let her know you're doing this to help keep her from paying an expensive ticket or being taken to jail. GSP's will ask us how old our kids are and what kind of seat they're in when they do random license checks. They had a guy pulled over the other day and were taking the baby out of his car.

That's the only way I can think of to bring it up, let her know you're out for her and the child's well being.

I wish they would do that around here. So many people have their children bucked incorrectly or the car seat installed incorrectly.

I know, and really some of them just think they know how to do it. I remember when Addison was a baby, I though I knew how to buckle her up in the infant carrier, but i didn't I had the buckle over her belly   Luckily, nothing ever happened. But I learned everything on this site, and learned how to buckle her correctly.

There should be mandatory carseat installation classes when you become pregnant, then another around 6 months to discuss further carseat options after they turn 1.

I had a Baby Trend infant car seat for Connor and had the base installed incorrectly when we left the hospital. I took it to the fire station when he was like a week old because I had a gut instinct it was wrong and thankfully they showed me how to do it right. Other than that, everything that I know about car seats is because of this site. I'm so thankful for it. <3

We are 27 months and still RFing! She has a ways to go before she outgrows her seat so I think we will be able to make it to 4 like I hoped!

I believe the highest RFing carseat goes to 45 pounds.
If it says 80-100, its usually how long they can be in the car seat total.

Do you have the manual to your seat? It will tell you the RF limit and the FF harness limit. You can also look at the stickers on the side of it for this information. If your seat is the one I think it is, it will RF to 35 lbs and FF harness to 40 or 50lbs then become a booster up to 80-100 lbs.
