short-waisted women
posted 13th Nov '07
I wanted to connect with other short-waisted women out there and see how their pregnancies were. My ribs and hip bones practically touch, so wondering...did they show sooner? Have a harder time towards the end with comfort & not much space for the baby? Have to have c-sections? So many questions =)

okay at first you had me confused with the question, I think you mean torso?? I actually have a long torso, so I wouldn't know....good luck!

Yes, your torso...it's mostly just known as short-waisted when you're in the petite community. I WISH I had a long torso! I do have long legs though...so that's nice. I know you're out there!!!

I have the same problem but i think you are farther along than i am, but i am only 8 weeks and starting to get a little bit of a belly so maybe that has something to do with it.

I'm short waisted and the only thing I've noticed is that I showed a heck of a lot sooner than was anticipated. I assume it's because she had no where to go but OUT!
That and I began waddling much sooner than all my long torso'd friends.
Just call me the eggwoman... goo goo g'joob.

Yes, I'm 12 weeks now...and my friend (very tall!) tell me it's too soon to start showing esp since I haven't gained any weight. But I swear I'm starting to get a little pot belly & it's hard. Maybe just bloating...

If I remember correctly, I was about 12/13 weeks when my belly popped out. Luckily, due to some constrictive undergarments during very limited durations I was able to hide it. I was looking for a job! Once I got the job though, I just wore some business casual stuff that camo'd my belly until I told them two weeks later.
The REAL showing started for me about 16 weeks though. That's when I started getting the "when are you due? January? OMG! Are you having twins?!" comments.

hahaha...oh no! I guess I will have to make minimal trips for my mom's home cooked meals, sweatshirt bundled of course! Too funny...I'm still "sucking in" all day because I'm used to holding my abs in...we'll see how long I can do that before they defy me!

You've got an advantage to hiding it more than I did. You're in a place where no one will think twice about you "layering" clothes. Winter in Alaska I can imagine would be ideal baby hiding conditions, at least much more so than a Texas Summer.

Very true!!! I got new boobies in March that I didn't want my very religious family to know about either, so I usually layer up anyways =) Lots of jackets and sweaters in my closet! Can't imagine trying to hide in the summer, better yet Texas. I die when it's 65 here in the summer!

65 sounds lovely.... It's 76 out right now and feels fantastic. We usually don't get winter until January here, and that's nothing compared to you guys.

I have a small torso and I'm a very small person. I actually was getting booked for shoots up until my fifth/six month or pregnancy, I just didn't want to do it. I showed in honestly like my seventh month. I carried low so I know a lot of women had shortness of breath really bad and I do have it but it just showed its ugly face recently when I go up the stairs and such in my house.....
