baby's head but not forehead always hot?

My baby's head is always a lot hotter than her forehead..today it seems really hot...it's 99 degrees with the thermometer, but her forehead is normal temp...

why is this?

lol, i have one of those thermometers that don't have to touch anything, you just hover it over the spot

Oh, okay. Those hadn't even crossed my mind. He's probably fine, if his forehead temp is normal. If he lies on his back, there will be more blood towards the back of his head, which can make it hotter on the outside. If your worried, take an armpit or rectal temp.

My daughter, who is one day younger than your little girl, is like that too. I just started noticing it recently and took her temp in both spots also. At least you know you're not alone! She did just recently start teething, so it may have something to do with that?
