Anyone else? Rash after cheap jewelry?

posted 18th Jul '10
So I got this new bracelet at Forever 21, and I wore it for a few hours, the next day my arm broke out in an itchy rash, red bumps everywhere. I know I'm stupid because usually if I wear "cheap" jewelry, meaning, some type of metals from most stores, I don't know what type of metal most jewelry has but I always break out so I guess I won't be able to wear accessories now, bleh, anyone get this?

Is it possible you're allergic to a metal?

My friend can't wear anything but yellow gold and surgical steel. Everything else breaks her out, including belt buckles.

are allergic to the metal   F21 uses rhodium and alloy for thier jewelry, alloy contains small traces of lead and makes alot of people brak out, stay away from alloy and use pure rhodium or sterling silver only

Same thing happens to me. Which sucks because I love F21's jewelry.

I think (but don't quote me here) some jewelry has nickel in it. I break out bad too. I can only wear surgical steel or real gold. The plating has to be done professionally too. They lower the kt the more I break out.
