What am I to do? My daughter literally sleeps ALL day long to the point where I have to wake her up for meals. At night, she is up every 3-4 hours crying becasue she is hungry. And then she stays awake in her bassinet. I wish she were more awake during the day. Instead she sleeps constantly. How can I get her days and nights straight? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
my son was the same way for longest time... last night shocked me though he slept a whopping 9 hours!! i suppose what you do is keep her stimulated during the day with maybe a nice 2-3 hour nap. Im constantly active and on the go so the car rides sort of keep him awake. But pretty much the problem will correct itself on its own. I don't know if that was just a one time thing for me, but i know atleast by 3 months they all start sleeping well through the night. Good Luck and don't stress too much (trust me it doesnt help).
Actually when I take her on car rides it makes her go to sleep. It's so hard to keep her awake. I guess she just needs her sleep! I am not worried about putting her on a bedtime routine until she's about 2-2 1/2 months old.
hey i have been going threw the same thing but what i did yesterday and it worked a little was that i kept her up most of the time she cried like crazy when she wanted to go to sleep but hey if i want this to work this is what i have to do ..so then her feeding time was at 10 pm so i gave her a shower at 9pm with johnson bedtime bath gel then i creamed her up (massaged her back and chest, legs)with bedtime cream i popped her bedtime lullabies.i put on her night light ,and gave her the formula at 10 like i was suppose tooand she slept until 2am i had to wake her actually then she stayed up for an hour and she went back to sleep and lasted 6 hrs in a half and today i repeated the same thing lets see if it works..you just have to keep a routine..well i hope this helped..happy holidays
This is totally normal. I had to wake Darwin for ALL feedings the first two weeks...and that was like pulling teeth!
I highly recommend making a distinct environment for daytime and nighttime. This means keep things light/bright and carry on about your merry way full of daily activities and noises during the day. Then at night keep things quiet and dark. Eventually baby will understand that bright and loud means wake up time.
