Back Pain

Hey ladies. I am only 13.2 weeks and I am having some pretty bad back pain in my lower and middle back. My mom has freaked me out saying she had preterm labor and back pain is a sign of it and everything so I am really nervous! Do you girls know what could be causing it and is it really something I should be concerned about?  

i wouldnt be concerned...you are too early to worry about pre-term labor!! Back pain is normal at that time bc your belly is starting to grow and your body is producing relaxin which makes your hips, pubic region, and back start shifting a lil to prepare for the baby! No worries!!it will only get worse as you get further along!! ive had back and hip pain since 12 wks and ive gone to the ER and they just tell me its normal and not to worry unless you have spotting or bleeding!! I also had bleeding and everything turned out fine and my baby boy is healthy!! i hope this puts your mind at ease!! try to go to a website like www.i-am-pregnant.com and read about whats going on in your week of pregnancy and they have a body map of discomforts where you can locate the pain on the chart and it will show stories of ppl who are experiencing pains and you can read about them and what they are doing about it!! goodluck!!

Early on I had horrible back pains that radiated down my leg that hurt to even take a step! I took Tylenol. That's about all you can do! That and pray it goes away! Which, mine has.  

If it's really severe you could have your siatic (sp?) nereve being compressed, there's not much you can do about it, but you can ask your doctor just to make sure.
