Quoting CL & DJs Mommy:" I'm almost 36 weeks and a bit terrified. I've never been in labor, my twins were a scheduled c-section. ... [snip!] ... want some other mamas who have been through this to talk to. Sorry if I'm rambling my brain is all over the place these days."
Don't worry about the following the tapes too much when you're in labor... You pretty much are in a trance once the hard labor hits ya anyway   I honestly have no idea who was in the room when I had my daughter.. I had a home birth, that we're going to be paying off with our taxes!! GL, momma!

I wish I could do that! All the midwives here want to be paid by 38 weeks and taxes don't get here until 40 or more weeks. What did you do to prepare?

Quick question. I have my first appointment at a Denver Health clinic tomorrow, BUT it is not the clinic I plan on going to for my care, I plan on going to a midwifery clinic right on the hospital campus. the reason I am having my appointment at this other clinic is because it is the soonest available one(one place handles appointments for all the clinics, they are all connected through the hospital) and I am already 9 weeks. The women's clinic is not available until The first week of Feb. and they wanted me to get my Ob intake done as soon a spossible since it is the longest appointment of them all. My question is should I ask this clinic about my VBA2C or just wait until my first appointment with the midwives???

yeah that's what i figured, I might just bring it up to get an idea since they are with the hospital that i'm delivering at, so they may be able to give me an idea of my chances. I know Denver Health has one of the lowest c-section rates around, and right on their website it states that they only perform c-sections when medically indicated.

I have heard really great things! So are you getting a doula? My friend is holding a few awesome birth related classes @ the Motheer'hood in denver.

I am so excited, the midwife I met with today was super nice and she said they do allow VBA2Cs at Denver Health and they would monitor my pain and all that during labor and that I do have a 70% chance of having a vaginal delivery! She seemed very supportive! I am currently talking with a Doula, my husband does not want to pay for it, he just does not understand how important they are, so she offered to do it for free, but I have not heard from her in about a week.
I read Ina May's Guide to Childbirth and I feel so empowered and knowledgeable now and I have NO fear at all about this birth! I now know I can do it, I know the power in my body and I just feel so happy about it!!
