Very well said   These doctors like this makes me so mad!

Its unfortunately to common for doctors to be like, oh I will totally let you have a VBAC, then give you unreasonable limitations. Like going into labor by 40 weeks, or plant little seeds along the way to let you know that there could be a problem with you being able to have a VBAC. Then when he tells you that for whatever reason, big baby, whatever it may be you can't have it. He was the guy who was going to let you. When he had no plan on letting you actually VBAC. He doesnt have to actually argue, and you end up with a RC

So my next birth I want a midwife and to do a Vba2c. I know it's possible.

I am a diabetic so it seems as if they won't allow me to go past my due date (when and if I will to ever get another due date lol)

I am just really for a vaginal birth, as I've had 2 csections and I am really determined for that vaginal birth!

What would you ladies consider in looking into when my time is ready for a midwife and Vba2c and what not?

I would look into your ICAN chapter in your area and go from there to helping you find the right midwife for you and so a consult with several so you can get a feel on that person.

I'm really glad my Dr. didn't lead me on, then.. She said I could try, but it would most likely end up in another section because of liability reasons. So right then & there I decided to find someone else!

Yes that is a doctor that I can at least respect. If they dont wanna do it that is fine with me. Just let me know so I can make an informed decision!

My advice would be start looking into midwifes now. Interview them and talk to people around town who have used them. My other suggestions would be to find an ICAN group. They are great for support. After that I would read everything you can about diabetes and pregnancy. That way you know how to manage it while pregnant.

yep   I think you will find one that will be more supportive! You can call and ask to do a consult before choosing one if you like.

It's so nice to know there are such supportive doctors out there!! This one practices fairly close to me. I told my midwife I want to change her to my transfer option, LOL!  

Hi! I'm Rachael and my son was born via c section for really no reason at all ( as to what I'm swear of) 1st time mom, I trusted my OB. I mean hell I was seeing him for so long just to get pregnant. I have zero regrets. But now I'm pregnant again and going on post and I assumed I'd just have another csection, but my OB brought up vbac. And that I should go to a class on it. She's pushing vbac and not csection. Alright I'm down. This is most likely my last child and why shouldn't I get to feel what labor and birth feels like.

But I didn't get the full 411 on how it'd go. I have high BP not pregnant. Other health issues that may or may not play a role in pregnancy still doing tests. She did say she would not let me go 40 weeks. I was reading here and there about how a small amount of pit was used and women went on to have vbacs. Anyone use pit to labor?

I see her again Monday and ill ask more questions.

With a VBAC, any form of induction doubles your chance of uterine rupture... and pitocin definitely would not help with your high blood pressure!! Pitocin also increases your risk of uterine rupture and chances of a repeat c-section. Why won't she let you go full term? .. And why did you end up having a c-section the 1st time?

Hey ladies,

Quick update on what is going on:
I will be 38 weeks after midnight. Today I had an ultrasound and an OB appointment. The baby is measuring 7lbs 4 ozs and the doctor was going on about how is already the size of second born and he is probably going to be big   then she felt of my belly and said but he doesnt feel big and that we just cant know for sure (all of this was said with attitude)... I dont get what her problem is since he is in the 50th percentile....
Then she asks me, is this going to be your last.. and I said I really dont know since I am only 24 and my husband is 27... she goes well if u knew this was going to be your last then i would recommend a c-section and just tie your tubes while you are open.... i am not sure why she thought I would ever consider getting my tubes tied
Then she tried to scare me about having a VBAC, and going on about how im doing this at my own risk and was giving really bad attitude because I insisted on a VBAC... after she went on and on about the risks of a VBAC she finally checks me and says I am 2 cm..... she would not do a membrane sweep until I was closer to 39 weeks... but when i was pregnant with my 2nd she was trying to sweep my membranes at 37 weeks..... 
I am beyond pissed right now... I lost all my trust in her... its weird how a month ago she was saying i would prefer you to have a VBAC blablabla and now this

That's a lot of bull! That's how my Dr. was with my 1st pregnancy!! She was all for my birth plan, but once labor started it all seemed to go out the window... And she was trying to push me to induce before my due date even hit, when I already said I didn't want to be induced! Ultrasounds are so inaccurate in the 3rd trimester anyway.. I heard from a doctor's interview, that they can be up to 2lbs off!.. Plus, 7lbs 4oz is average size!   .. And that's crazy she's suggesting you get your tubes tied when you're that young! Is this the same doctor you had with your 1st VBAC? She sounds like she's trying to take the easy way out...
