You had a medical reason to be induced though!... Most doctors won't take the risk otherwise.

I was going to be induced on my dd if I didn't go into labor on my own.

Because it's just an estimated date of when baby will be born, not when they should be born by.. And induction with VBAC doubles your risk of uterine rupture.   So, your doctor really shouldn't induce you with a VBAC unless it is medically necessary, or you are well overdue.

I trust her judgement. I would have done it, but I didn't need to because baby came 6 days early.

I was just wanting that other girl know that induction with pitocin does increase rupture. My doctor was willing to use a small dose to help labor along if needed but I am glad I didn't need anything and went on my own. I personally would have tried an induction before just opting for a repeat c-section even knowing the risk involved but I wouldn't want to be induced early.

I'm 19 weeks and just had a check up today. I talked to my doctor about my interest in VBAC again and he told me that he wanted to wait until I was closer to labor and we had a better idea of the babys size to decide what I wanna do. He did also say that he is perfectly willing to try a VBAC but apparently because I've got a super narrow pelvis he said that that was probably the original reason for my inability to deliver vaginally. He said that it could cause more damage to my.. girlness and long term pain if I chose to go that rout. I want to experience a natural birth the way women were intended to give birth but if a csection really would be better I'm ok with it. I'm just really scared now and I have no idea what to do...?! Opinions?

Sounds to me you do not have a VBAC friendly doctor so I recommend a second opinion and find another. Your pelvic will spread the further you get to delivery and with each child so I call BS on what he is saying. My first I had a c-section due to her getting stuck on my pubic bone facing up and I had a succesful vbac in January and she was only 1 oz bigger than Zoe and only needed one stitch. Your doctor is trying to scare you out of the decision to VBAC and weight shouldn't even be talked about seeing that ultrasounds can be off up to 2 lbs (b/c ultrasound said mine would be over 8 1/2 lbs when I delivered and harper was only 7lbs 5oz)

Totally agree with Zoe mom. He is also waiting to talk about it so that the closer you get he can scare you with the big baby card and talk you into a c section. A VBAC supportive doctor would never say any of those things.

Your pelvis is held together by ligaments. Our bodies release a hormone called relaxin. That is what makes your feet bigger and your bones ache. It looses you up. When you are in labor your pelvis adjusts to the baby. There is NO possible way he can tell you how far your pelvis can stretch and adjust because no one knows. We do know though that we are designed to give birth to the baby we grew. We also know that a repeat c section carries more risk for mom and baby than a VBAC. The choice is yours but if I were you I would be finding a new doctor.
