My daughter hasn't seen a doctor for 9 mo. Smurfing Mississippi is so stupid they would rather segregate a healthy child and let them get sick and blame it on that you didn't get shots , than to do thier job and love babies whether they are vaccinated or not. HORRIBLE!!!!!!!

My LO only went to the doctor once his first year. He is 12 months and has never been sick. I am glad that if he needed to go, we have a doctor that will see him with no problems. Are you eventually going to vaccinate, homeschool, or just move?

Ill prob just move back to the IE in CAlifornia where I am from.. Menifee area actually.

Okay so my son needs to start daycare tomorrow and I need to do an exemption form. It says for medical exempts he needs his pedis signature or for philosophical I can just sign.
He had a reaction to dtap and cant get that vax (Thats the nail in the coffin vaxing wasn't for him and helped my case to my dh since I wasn't comfortable with vaxing) so that be a medical vax but we aren't doing most of the other ones either so thats philosophical. Can I just sign it then? Even if he didn't have the reaction he still wouldn't be caught up for philosophical reasons.

Bumping this in case anyone needs this info for the school year.

Thank you for taking the time to put this together! It amazes me how many people don't realize there are exemptions.

If someone hears I'm not vaccinating, it's immediately "well, she won't be able to go to school." seriously? You know nothing yet you criticize my informed decision!! People are so lovely.

Medical or religious?

I wanted to remind those people utilizing exemptions of this tip. In most states, getting your exemption turned in to the school is very simple. After you have your exemption ready, simply hand it to the school authority who is requesting shot records. No need to explain what it is or talk about it, unless the school authority asks what it is, at which point, you can say, "It's my exemption form, a legal substitute for a shot record."

Now it wouldn't HURT to have your state's laws printed out and ready for the puzzled looks and questions you might get. Visit your state's exemption laws linked on the OP here, and print the page out. Highlight the important info detailing your state's policies. Hand this in to the school authority who is curious. You don't have to do this, but it can help educate and get you out of the door with less bs.

I am interested in this..I'm pregnant and am looking into selective vaccines. Thanks so much. Hopefully I am able to figure out which vaccines baby will need most although I almost don't want to do any. Tough..
