Induction?

So far this pregnancy I have been concerned with early bleeding, almost finding no heartbeat at one appointment, scare of breech baby (they were wrong), thought my water broke two weeks ago but it did not, and now they estimate that he will be 9+lbs and I have only dilated to 1cm since week 35! Right now I am 39wks-2 days and I have had no contrax, bh contrax, loss of plug, show and they say the baby is still pretty high. The dr. said that we will talk about induction at my next appt (which is due date of Oct. 24) if I have made no further progress and since the baby is only getting bigger   . So my question is has anyone else had almost no progress this far along and still gone into labor at their due date? Or am I doomed to have an induction, also I have heard that most inductions lead to C-sections. Looking for advice and comforting words of wisdom from those who are there or who have been there
