re: TTC Grads hang here

Hi everyone!

sorry I haven't been on here in a while. just trying to get my bearings between havin a new baby, crazy inlaws who are staying with us, recovery from c-section and associated pain, baby not latching on to my breasts, it's been hectic! The grace of God keeps me going every day I must say. It is well by His grace.

Angella - Congrats!!! And yes you are a beautiful woman and your baby is precious!

All the pics are too cute. I tried to post some but I can't figure it out - I even messed up my avatar in the process!

Also my godsons grandma who i'm good friends with said she wants to buy a bigger item and asked about a play pen.I told her I was going to get one thats on my registry but was thinking about a cheaper one so she might pick me out one.


Melissa-I was thinking another thing that everybody seems to buy are the diaper cakes,wreaths and cupcakes.I know the cakes are pretty easy so that might be something to add to your website.

Angella, that is great she is doing what they want her to do with the weight gain! woo hoo!!

Aday, is he having problems because they bottle feed him? They sometimes dont want to work as hard for it after that.

brandy I like the system. Graco is awesome.

Angella, I think it's fantastic of Temperance is rolling already! She's a NEWBORN...they don't roll that fast! She's definitly a self-starter that one. But as for lifting their heads...it takes a few months for them to keep it up, but a lot of babies lift their heads young. I know Sanaa was trying to lift her head the second day of life at the hospital! We have superbabies, that's for sure!

Kim, Morgan is too cute! She just looks like a little doll. Love her!

Brandy, I like that travel system. It's really cute, but isn't it kinda expensive? I don't know, but look at this one from Target (they might have it a BRU too):

Aday, I am also having latching issues with Temperance. They said it is because of her developmental age and that when we get to 39 weeks or so she should be able to start doing it better but I am not sure. They had us give her a bottle in the hospital because of her glucose and then they have me using a nipple shield which is essentially just a damn bottle nipple thing that covers my own nipple. She doesn't have to "latch" correctly with it to get the milk and it makes it easier for her. I am worried that I won't be able to get her to nurse without it and the damn thing is frustrating as all hell because it doesn't fit on well because my little one is quite a squirmer and constantly knocks it off while I am trying to get her positioned right. Then she reaches up and grabs it and yanks it off too.

I wondered if that was considered rolling or not. I assumed going from her side to back isn't because that should be fairly easy but I wasn't sure when she started going from her back to her side on her own. I think the reason she did that is because in the hospital I had her sleeping on her side because she was constantly throwing up her formula (she couldn't stand the stuff) and I was afraid of her choking on it. So now that is her preferred sleepng position.

Brandy, I think both your system choice and the other one being suggested are good choices but you should go with the brand you are more comfortable with.With Elizabeth, whenever I bought Graco, I never went wrong but I had bad experience with the Evenflo playpen so I chose mostly Graco for Temperance.

Thank's for the suggestion.My sister said she is giving me $100 for a stroller combo and I got a coupon for $20 off and then if I switch it on the registry I get another 10% off so I should only have to pay about $80 tops.I really wanted the graco deco one but it's $260 so I decided to down grade a lil.Also I dont know how much yet but a nurse at work told me she has a card with money for me since she cant go to the shower.

UGh!!! SEE what I mean I just give up on things... last night I stayed up trying to make another bow, and it didn't turn out that great! So I just give up and think that I can't do it. Or I see other peoples bows that they make and they are SO CUTE! I guess practice makes perfect!

Yeah, he had jaundice and had to have phototherapy for 2.5 days where he was in the light incubator and could only be taken out by a nurse for 30 minutes every 3 hours (that was very depressing by the way) so it was hard to nurse. He got used to the formula bottle and has had issues latching ever since...

Ditto my post to Kim. They also gave me a nipple shield and my boy like Temperance squirms a lot so it's difficult. At this time, I am just pumping and giving it to him by the bottle. I had some baby blues in the beginning and cried bcos I was so looking forward to breastfeeding my baby and having this wonderful experience, but I've gotten over that now and am just trying to enjoy him as much as I can. So how long does it take for her to get through a feed with this nipple shield?

Aday and Angella- if it helps you feel better, Ben had latch issues at the beginning, I think because he was early, and I used a nipple sheild for almost 5 weeks, despite everyone telling me not to. but it helped him eat and I just didnt have the time or energy to feel guilty about it   and he totally got bfing down in his own time and is now a GREAT latcher! So the nipple shield had no negative effects at all

It's Friday.... Here is some 4th of July pics of the babies....


What did everyone do for 4th of July?? Dane and the babies and I went to his dads house, he lives on the boardwalk on Clear Lake and they have a big shin dig on the board walk w/ fireworks and such, so we went there. We were going to go swimming at his dads house, but I started my Lovely Monthly FINALLY of all days it had to of been today!!! But it's pretty weird since I am pretty on schedule from a year ago, because I was supposed to start 7/7/07 but that's when I found out I was pregnant w/ our first baby   .... It still makes me think of what that baby would of looked like, what the sex would have been and so forth, but I know if we would of had that baby then I wouldn't know Drake and Kera or have had the pleasure of being their mom. God really has blessed us w/ 2 beautiful babies, and I am so fortunate that I am able to call myself their mother.

Well girls, 4th of July is over for me, but I hope you all had a GREAT one.

we had a good 4th....didn't really watch the fireworks but no big deal (the mosquitos down here would have carried Kendall off!!!!

it was a LONG day!! we went to 2 Bar-B-Qs and Kendall fought naps all day (I hope this helps her sleep good tonight) at the 2nd bbq we went to there were like 6 babies 2 and under and a bunch of kids and 2 pregnant women (and only like 6 families there!!) I didn't really take any pictures either, but thats okay b/c I got pictures done in her 4th of July outfit. oh and I went and got more free diapers this morning! Sat is the last day... I think I'm going to go get some more...Melissa you should do this if you are going to make diaper cakes!
