Nodding head...normal?

Ok so a little over a week ago my son was playing on the floor like normal and he was on his hands and knees and I noticed he was moving in his head in a "yes" movement, and I freaked out and picked him up like maybe he was choking on something and he got very upset that I picked him up but was happy again once I set him down. But then later that day he was in his excersaucer and he was doing that same movement again but dramatically, and my SO saw that time and he said that Julio probably just figured out he could do it and that it was nothing. Well, he kept doing it randomly and I was concerned so I took him to see my mom and she saw him do it and said the same thing as my SO. But then last night we were visiting again and he did it some more and she said it did look strange. I don't know if this is normal or if I should be concerned?? He hasn't displayed any other unusual behavior, but he is just doing this randomly usually when he's just playing in his own little world. And when I say his name or anything he stops and looks and smiles. Any advice?? TIA

Maybe your baby is playing with a ghost  

My son started to do the head shaking (but in a 'no' movement). Supposedly its common, they grow out of it, they are just developing motor skills and their nervous system jump starts at 6 months too.

My daughter does it sometimes & she laughs when she does it after. Shes shaking her head yes though, because shes seen us do it enogh ya know?

lol funny you say that me and my SO joke all the time that we have a ghost living with us, it started when Julio's old bassinet would randomly start playing music in the other room when I had turned it off, and now his rocking hore that randomly neighs and you have to push its ear  

My baby started doing this too but she was nodding in a "no" pattern. She does it now when she doesn't want something but in the beginning she did it just because she wanted to and she would shake and smile so I believe she was just playing. I think it's very normal.
