Yay! He arrived last Sunday June 13 at 3 pm.
Okay so I'm gonna try to keep this as short as possible since thank God there were never any issues or complications that came up during delivery:-)
So last Saturday night at 11:30pm I started to get contractions that were becoming more consistent and a lil more painful, so from midnight till 1am I was timing them and they were coming continuously every 3-4 min, I got up off the couch to use the bathroom. When I got to my feet I felt a warm gush from between my legs , so sure enough when I got to the bathroom my panty liner was completly soaked. I knew my water had broke:-) I told Jose (SO) right away but he was already getting ready to go because we knew something was gonna happen with all the contractions.
We got to the the hospital around 2:30am they got me to a room right away and once I changed the nurse checked me and tested the pool of liquid I was sitting in and laughed and said yes my water definitely broke, she told to move around walk around the hospital to try to speed things up. We did a for a little while and yes they got more painful but I was tired and slept from about 5am till 8:30 through the contractions, around 9am the midwife checked me I was 3cm dialated and they gave me some pain meds through the IV. They made me feel heavy & tired. I walked around some more with the contractions getting more painful till finally around 1pm I caved and asked for an epidural, So after the epi was administered she checked me again and said I was now dialated to a 7! So I was hanging out contracting for about an hr 1/2 when about 2:30pm I got some heavy contractions that I could feel through the epi and had a burning heavy feeling in my lower back/butt :-) I called for the nurse she checked me and smiled and said "alright I think this baby's ready to come out, your definitely fully dialated. So she immediatly called for the mid-wife & the baby nurses to come in and the got everything ready right away. At about 2:45 I started pushing through the contractions and after about 4 or 5 pushes he was out at 2:59 pm Antonio was born a beautiful & healthy 7lbs 2oz 20in :-)
It's still surreal to me that he's here and I was able to deliver him through a successful VBAC with no complications is such a great feeling!! It was an amazing experience and one we hope to try for again in a couple years
