Jack should be left alone. It's a great name--screwing up the spelling will make it suck.

She could always do a spin on Zach and name the baby Jach or Jachariah and Jach for short.

I like Jacques but only the french pronunciation and only in a french speaking country.. It could work for Jac tho.

Jacinto is spanish for Jack, in my city there's a street San Jacinto that everyone calls San Jac.

But if we're talking a kid who will live the majority of his life in an English speaking country why not just Jack?

Because people feel the need to misspell names in an attempt to make it unique when it doesn't.

I don't think it's dumb to want to be different  
When I first met my boyfriend (who's name is jack) I thought his name was spelled Jayck due to a Facebook miss read haha and his name has been that in my phonebook ever since and will be the way our kids name is spell if we have a boy
