I think the underlying question girls are trying to ask is:

Are pregnancy symptoms clearly different from period symptoms?

Some of the symptoms before 5 weeks are not that different from pre-period symptoms, so I think that's why girls ask so often.

If you think you're pregnant, don't stress yourself out about it. The stress can cause a phantom pregnancy, which is when you pretty much convince your body your pregnant because you're so scared.

If at any time you thing you may be pregnant, behave as though you are. Take a Multivitamin, don't drink, drug, or bungiejump. If you are not pregnant, it won't hurt you live healthy for a couple of weeks. You can get pregnant on the pill, with condoms, while getting Depo shots, with an IUD in, basically any intertcourse could make a pregnancy. Birth control does not prevent pregnancy, just makes it less likely. Its probably a good idea to limit your sexual partners to those you would not mind raising kids with right now.

I dont think i saw this on the list, if so i am sorry for repeating! You may also produce an abnormal amount of vaginal discharge. At least thats what one of the sites i looked at said, they all say something different

Jen I had my period for 2 months when i decided to take a test and came out positive... at first they thought i was 6 weeks but then when they did the sonogram i was already 8 and half weeks.... i never missed a period until we actually found out we were pregnant... it was like my body saying ok now you know your preggo so imma stop having periods... thats how i gave my hopes up... everytime i got my period i didnt i could get preggy and here i am 36 weeks tomoro

it is NOT a period,

to have a period you must ovulate, if you are pregnant you DO NOT ovulate
