hidden twins???

Okay i probley sound like im talkin hooey here but here's my story lol.
at my 22wk ultrasound the doc said 100% a boy and you could clearly see the "equipment". Then i had some complications and required another ultrasound at 27 and 29wks and at that point BOTH ultrasounds showed clearly a girl. Now the doc is saying that i may be having TWINS and i find out there's what they call a history of "hidden twins" in my family. Its where there perfectly behind one another and the hearbeats are exactly the same. I feel like im ready to loose my mind haha. Its going to be a grab bag on delievery day as to what kind and how many. Has anyone else had something crazy like this going on???

I was pregnant with twins with my first pregnancy but one of my died. BUT twins you can feel fighting for space, and you feel it sooner than you would with a single baby. Ultra-Sounds can be wrong!! My daughter was a boy in all her ultra-sounds.. All I can really say is just wait until your little baby or babies are here. BUT do plan for both just in case. Buy the boy and girl clothes and 2 car seats you can always take back the carseat and clothes. GOOD LUCK!!!

I'm almost 26 wks with twin girls! I was able to see them both on all of the ultrasounds I've had though.
Are you measuring big? That would be the best indicator in my opinion. I'm already measuring at 31 weeks, and I definitely look like it! I was told that by 30 weeks, I'd be measuring at 40, so at this point you'd most likely start to have a bigger than normal belly...
I would maybe ask for a second opinion from another dr. or see if your dr. is willing to do another u/s? There can be a lot of complications with twins and I would want a dr. that was willing to take it a little more seriously than just saying "it might be twins."
I've never heard of hidden twins, but I'm sure that it's not impossible! Good luck with everything!

I am not having twins, but I am an identical twin myself. Hidden twins can happen. It happened to my mom with us. She did not find out til she was 5 1/2 months pregnant that she was having twins. Our heart beats were in sync and we were on top of eachother. From what I know it usually happens more in identical twins because they are in the same sac.
Good luck.

Hello. I love that i found this. I have an issue right now that is bugging the heck out of me. I found out at 18wks i was pregnant. At 19wks i had a u/s that said clearly boy. At 21wks i had another that said so obvious even i couldnt mistake it we were having a girl. Just had another u/s and again weve gone back to its a boy. Theres the parts. No more questions... im supper confused. Each gender was clear as day light. Ive had two other twin pregnancies but i lost both in the first and one from the second. We found out early with both they were twins. But as far along as i am now im sceptical that id be hiding another baby in all three ultrasounds. Im beginning to wonder though because i have the pictures right here and i just cant believe how obviouse they all are! Youre story strikes me because ypure so far along with your pregnancy. It makes me think i need to reconsider the possibility. I wish you luck on yours. I hope we dont have too much chaos when i have mine. I will admit ill be shocked if i knock out two instead of one on our big day.

My boyfriend was a hidden twin. His mom did not know she was having twins until she was layong on the operating table. He was laying directly behind his brother.
