TEEN PREGNANCY LAWS IN ARIZONA

someone told me that in Arizona when you have a baby, you are technically considered an adult. something along the lines of automatic emancipation?
does anyone know anything about this, or can supply a web page for me to read up on this.
not that i'm trying to run from my mommy lol; just interested in the topic.

I think you're just medically emancipated, but I'm not certain.

I've heard of that being a law here in NY too...

No, you're not automaticaly emancipated anywhere for being a pregnant teen. You are still under your parents guardianship, but your LO is only under yours. If you're under 18, you will still need your parents along with ya to go to the emergency room (I found this out the hard way when I was 17 and pregnant), but if you're bringing your child then you don't, because they are under your care. I hope this made sense.

That's the word I was looking for, and couldn't think of it. So I had to type a whole damn paragraph to try and explain it.  

The way I was told you don't have "custody over youself so you can't have custody over another but you automatically get custody of your child once you turn 18"

Just medically. But really, anyone is medically emancipated to some extent.

I dont think so. I was still under my parents insurance and everything. But my baby was under my care.

ur profile says u and ur bf tried to get preg...but ur only 17..why would u ttc when ur so young..u have ur whole life to have babies..u can never get ur teen years back when u have a baby..it changes ur entire life..i'm pretty sure the parents of the teens ttc had no idea their kids were doing that because i would flip out on my child if she tried to have a baby as a teen..not starting smurf just simply stating my opinion
