When can he have watermelon?

When can a baby have some watermelon? Julio's 8 months and he eats finger foods, but im not sure if watermelons is one of the ones your supposed to wait because of allergies. TIA

i didnt give it til 2yrs because we have a melon allergy in the family

He can have watermelon. Just make sure you get all the seeds.

8 months is a great time for him to try it! Osiris loves fruit.

Strawberries is the only main one they are worried about before a year or two but if you have a melon allergy then wait... but both my kids had watermelon bfore a year

My LO is almost 9 months old and loves watermelon! She eats little cubes or I put some in her little messy feeder and she goes to town on it.

It is recommended to introduce right around the same age your son is.   Just watch for signs of an allergic reaction as you would with any other new food.

Its fine for him to have it now! Its a pretty low food allergen, but as with anything new i'd offer it during a time that I knew he hadnt been introduced to anything else new either. So if he DOES have a reaction you know exactly what it is. Also, its a great thing to put in one of those mesh fruit eaters. Its a little slippery cause its so wet but it mushes up great in a mesh feeder so you dont have to worry about choking.
