posted 30th Jun '06
okay so im 3 months and havent exercised until today after my cousin told me she gained 115 pounds from being lazy, eating anything she wanted, andnot exercising at all.... i know its good for you because i heard it makes it easier on you to have the baby and its also good because you lose more weight after the baby is born so i've decided to start walking for 35 mins almost everyday what about you guys whats your exercise routine????

i was pretty much on th same track as u as far as exercising i am 6 months and have just been being lazy but i am really worried about how hard it will be to loose this weight after my daughter is born so i started walking for an hour a day... i wait until the sun goes down and i grab my water and head phones and i go walking... my mom and everyone kept saying that it is a really good thing whikle u are pregnant... and it makes it easier on u when u have the baby... so that is what i am doin as far as exercise right now...

I am eight weeks along and I have been way too tired to excercise lately. I become exhausted by walking around two blocks or the mall. However, as soon as this extreme nausea and fatigue lighten up, I plan on at least walking everyday and taking a yoga class for mommies to be in order to help with my breathing and to simply relax. I want to do everything possible to make the delivery a smooth one and to not gain an excessive amount of weight.

i'm one day shy of 20 weeks pregnant, I am a taekwondo instructor, and i've been exercising, i mean it comes with the job description, but when i feel tired i stop. I just figured out that sit ups are not so good, they made me cramp so i stopped doing those. but other than that, jogging and things should be just fine

I'm 32 weeks and i've been pretty lazy throughout my pregnancy. I've only gained 14 pounds though. But since i didnt exercise i got really bad muscle spasms from not being active and i got dehydrated really easily. I now do water arobics 3 days a week. it does wonders on being uncomfortable and it really helps me fall asleep at night. It stretches out my muscles and my doctor told me it will help so much when i go into labor.
i really recomment water aerobics. Ymca's offer classes and so do high schools. I go to a morning class, 6:30-7:30 and at first it was really hard for me to get up in the morning because i am so tired all the time, but now it's gotten so much easier to get up because it helps me throughout the day so much.

I love doing prenatal yoga. It helps to relax those tense muscles. But I'm not always up on it. My excercise mostly was my job, until now! I work at Starbucks and am usually on my feet all day. Since taking maternity leave, though, I haven't been doing much. Walking a bit, but it hurts! I guess the baby has dropped so low that my hips are spreading further, and it's just all bad news.
I was 120 pre-pregnancy, then lost 10 lbs, and now I am 150. So I guess I've gained 30. Not too bad!

I'm 13 weeks and haven't been exercising, other than walking to work. I've been way too tired but I understand that during the second trimester I'm supposed to have more energy so I just bought a pregnancy workout video and am hoping to start using it soon. I read that the stronger your abdominal muscles are the easier labor will be.

Hi.

I am 15 weeks and have been exercising 5 days a week since before I knew I was pregnant. I still exercise 4-5 days a week. I have found the eliptcal machine and the treadmill to be the easiest cardio workouts to do. I have been running a little bit too, maybe 1-2 times a week. I aslo like using an exercise ball to stretch and do wall squats with...anything to keep my legs in shape.

If you didn't exercise before you were pregnant I wouldn't start out too hard. Ease in to it and don't over do it. There are days when I have to stop and understand that enough is enough. My lil guy seems to be the one to dictate that.

Try prenatal yoga or pilates...they low impact and great for toning and keeping flexible.

Good luck!

I don't exercise regularily and haven't gained 5bls the whole pregnancy! AND I'm third trimester. It's not how much you eat it's WHAT you eat. McD's will make anyone fat. A ceasar and whole wheat pasta in tomato sauce won't. (within reason)
