thanks for resurrecting this thread! I'd love to hear some stories of identical twins born around this time.
I delivered my two girls by c section three days ago, at 32 weeks 3 days. Was really hoping to keep them baking for two more weeks, but they were showing signs of TTTS.
Baby A (now Cecilia Rose) was the receipient twin, born at 3 lbs 8 ounces, and having a tougher time of it now. Her heart rate started dropping on the NST and so I had an emergency c section.
Baby B (now Dahlia Freya) was the donor, born at 3 lbs 1 ounce, but she is the mighty mouse!
I had the steroid shots four and three days before delivery (24 hours apart).
Both girls are on CPAP. Donor B was taken off for a day, but her heart rate was dropping so they've put her back on.
Cici hasn't yet started to get fed. Her imbilical catherer didn't go in quite as well as they wanted, so she needed the PIC line. Hopefully, they'll start to feed her today. She is also under the lamp for jaundice. And she needed surfactant therapy after delivery because her lungs were more premature than her sister's.
Didi started to get formula yesterday.
I go home today without my girls. It's tough, but I know my doctors did the right thing by delivering them when they did. Shared placenta always carried these risks, I'm grateful I made it to 32+ weeks and got the steroid shots.
Still having a tough time with everything, of course. Would LOVE to hear some encouraging stories about twins / premies born at 32 weeks.
