ive tried everything....switched the formula from enfamil lipil with iron to the gentleease, tried karo syrp and water, tried diluating her formula with more water, mylacon drops, but im still having to use a sapassatory (sp) to get her to poop and it is extremely hard....she hurts soooo bad and her stomach is sooo tight....i just went to wallgreens and purchased gripe water, my mom got her to sleep while i was gone, so im not going to disturb her, but when she gets up and is still hurting, im giving it to her...my question is, has anyone had/have these or simiular problems with their child by the way, she is 3 weeks old....if so, does gripe water work....im calling the pedi tomorrow, but until then, i want her to be comfy....

I would try a tsp. of prune juice in her bottles or just give her a bottle of 1 ounce of prune juice to 1 ounce of water, that has seemd to be the only think that worked for my son. Becareful with Gripe Water I think Baby Bliss had a recall due to a parasite in it that was causing intestine problems. I had little tummies Gripe Water and it didn't really help with pooing and then I heard about the recall and decided to stop using it all together becuase it's not FDA approved. Hope that helps- Good Luck!

Gripe water is worthy of my worship, lol. Really. Since ds was born, a lil' gripe water has always helped with colic, gas, you name it. Make sure to check out if there have been any recalls on the brand you choose! gl!
