Congratulations! I was 23 when I found out I was expecting and was totally shocked because I was on the pill. I can only imagine the range of emotions you are going through having been there not that long ago. Just know that it really is doable and don't hesitate to ask for help when you need it! If you haven't started on prenatal vitamins you probably should, you can buy them over the counter almost anywhere and they tend to all be about the same, ingredient wise. If you begin to experience morning sickness try to have several small meals and keep crackers with you. Taking extra B6 vitamins can also help! Usually ob/gyn don't see you until you are 8-12 weeks, so if you have any problems/questions in the meantime, it is usually best to contact your primary care practitioner. Avoid doing any heavy lifting - they usually don't recommend anything over 15lbs. I don't know what other kind of advice you are looking for, these are just a few things I wish that I would have known when I found out. You can PM me if you have any specific questions or more questions as you go along!

The previous poster said pretty much all there is to say at the beginning of the pregnancy, unless you'd like more specifics.
I'm also 21, and this is my first. If you have any questions or concerns stay on this site, and talk about them. It's been wonderful for me. You can pm me too if you want. I'm getting toward the end of my pregnancy (time flew by fast!) and I plan to stick around for awhile. There's lots of women on here that know their stuff (and some who start drama). All in all though, this is a great place for support.

AF = aunt flow...your period.

As for your mucous plug... That's something thats up inside of you...You won't lose that until you're further along and closer to going into labor.

You start losing it and some times there is more than one... depends on when you lose the first one. It doesn't all come out at once either. Some times its in pieces and its a type of discharge.

Congrats to you ladies and good luck. I'm a first time mommy too...

there is not more than one mucous plug...lol Its a big snotty lookin think that plugs you up to protect the baby from infection throughout your pregnancy. It falls out towards the end all at once or in pieces and can fall out anywhere to a month (or longer!! everyones different!!) to when youre in labor. It can be clear, yellowish, be red tinged, never know cause everyones different but its like a lot of snot!
