He had it last week and still has the rosey checks but is no longer contagious. I haven't been to work in 2 days cause I have a cold but still I am freaking!! I called the doc. but of course no one has called me back yet!!

im not much help on this but if its any consolation, if you do have it, only 5% of pregnant women get serious problems from it. theres also a big chance you are already immune to it anyways, so dont freak out too much.

I had a scare about the whole fifth's disease thing early on in my pregnancy, as my son had it before I even knew I was pregnant. I had been taking care of him as normally I would, and really thought nothing of it until after my pregnancy test came back positive. I had the blood tests done at my first office visit, and I wasn't immune, unlike a good majority of people my age... I ended up having to have a series of ultrasounds performed, from about 10 to 16 weeks...until I was in the clear (usually about 10 weeks after exposure). The ultrasounds were to check for fetal heart development and function, as fifth disease primarily causes fetal heart failure because of severe anemia in the fetus. I had another blood test that showed that my immunity didn't convert, meaning I never got fifth disease, even though I was fully exposed to it. My baby is ddeveloping completely normally (THANK GOD!). I know you posted this a while ago, just thought I'd share my story...did anything ever come of your exposure? I see we are due at about the same time...

I don't know how it effects a fetus or pregnant mom, but I got this when I was in kindergarten. Healthwise, I'm fine now, but damn if it wasn't a painful, beotch of a condition to have. I remember being on a regimen of pills for several weeks.
