I am not sure about this answer, ask your Dr to be totally sure, but beta (strep) might be the thing they are looking for. It's a bacteria that causes strep throat. And it can cause vaginal discharge related to a infection.
I might be TOTALLY wrong, but I know my Dr checks for some things that are routine. Strep at very early and very late stages of the pregnancy, because it can be passed to the baby.
Ask your dr. and then let us know so we have the info as well.
