THE BABY SHOWER 9/23

posted 24th Sep '07
Yup I had my baby shower yesterday in oh my god I had 28 people planning too come in only 14 adults showed up, not a huge deal! In the only thing I got off my regestry was a diaper bag   I swear I am never using a regestery ever again! I am so great full for the diaper it just pisses me off that the only thing people tend to think a baby needs is clothes oh in I rec 2 things of infant diapers in 2 things of wipes! I was happy about those 2!
But all in all I had alot of fun My mom hosted the party in I presented the babys name, Abigail Marie in everybody loved it! In my mother agreed to get everything else that I need next week My savor! I will allso post all the pictures of the party in all those clothes later!

i've heard from a lot of people that no one goes by the registries. i'm sorry that u didn't get anythnig that u registered for. i have a feeling that is how it is going to be when ihave my baby shower. i know i'll probably get a lot of clothes which is good in my case. all i have is my son's old crib. i've decided to wait until after my baby shower to buy anything.

well that's good that u will be able to help your friend out if she has a girl. i had 3 people tell me that had tons of clothes for me if i had a girl. but i'm having another boy so i have to start from the beginning. i think i might have some of my son's old clothes at my step-mom's house but he was born in july so i don't think there will be much that i can use. this baby is due in december.

sorry you didn't get the stuff you wanted, but like people have said a thousand times...it's basically your responsibility to buy what you NEED, it's nice if our families/friends do it for us of course, but in the end a gift is a gift! You are lucky that your mom wants to buy everytying for you though!

Like she said, barely anyone goes by registries, I got lucky, my moms coworkers made a donation thing and they raised over 500 bucks for my shower and bought all my big things (travel system, play yard, swing and a bunch of other stuff) but other than that and my boppy (two of um actually) I didn't get anything off my registry.

I have a cousin that sent me a box of baby clothes and a box of maternity clothes. There's also another box waiting at my grandmother's house of just boy clothes. [at the time we didn't know yet boy or girl, so she just sent me the gender neutral things]
Hubby's mom bought our crib/changing table.

other than that, that's it. no baby shower, as we're 2000 + miles from family & friends.
it's up to us now.

I really don't understand not buying from the registery..I mean I can understand buying things you want to buy, but then why not atleast buy something small off the registery..doesn't make any sense to me. I'm SO thankfull for my family and friends I actually got everything on my registery purchased plus stuff that wasn't.

sorry u didnt get what u wanted. just buy the essentials cuz they grow so quick u'll end up with things that u wont even use. dont worry about the diapers cuz u wont know what size ur baby is till its born anyway!

ohhh wow! I wasnt trying to be spoiled or inconsiderate to anybodys feelings in the invitations in everybody I had talk too actually had told me that is the best idea they have herd of! some people like a little guidance I actually reieved more gift cards which are awesome then diapers! I am so greatfull for everything that I recieved, IN AGAIN IT WASNT THE GIFTS ITS THE DAMN REGESTRY IT IS A WAIST OF TIME BEC PEOPLE DONT ACTUALLY LOOK!
One really good friend of mine actually went in looked in bought me a outfit with a mermaid in dolphins bec she knows that is what I am into the ocean! so ya the note that went with the invitations wasnt the problem! Its the regestry in if I remember right a few other baby showers that I have been too when I was a little younger both had regestrys in no one looked in had the same issue! so I know its not the damn note its just that people dont look at regestries!
The next time I go to a baby shower I will make sure too look in buy atleast 2 items of their list! So the person that took their time too think of things that they either like or need didnt waist their time!!!!!
