My first daughter was 8 lb 2 oz at 38 weeks ( and I am a small person). This time around I have gestational diabetes and they are expecting this baby to be big but they haven't said anything about C-section.

I had a 9lb 6oz baby and they are not going to make me have a c-section this time. They don't want me to go overdue though so I may end up having to be induced. Maybe you should find another doctor. I am trying to stay within my recommended weight gain and trying to eat healthier this time so that my baby will be smaller.

My baby was not huge but was 8 lbs 1 oz at 37 weeks. And becasuse I had preeclapsia and he was getting so big they induced me but I had him vaginally.
If you do switch Dr's I would tell him/her why you are wanting to switch so that you don't run into the same issue a couple weeks down the road and you are both on the same page with what you would like !

heck no find another doc. they shouldn't make that call anyway until the end if baby was breech or some other problem my son was 8lbs 10oz coming from a 5' originally 100 pound girl and I delivered vaginally I would again now with twins but I want a c-section for safety reasons for them

My son was 9 lbs 15 oz. The only thing my doc has said is making sure I don't go past my due date... I am going to try to get induced 2 weeks early. Big babies run in my family.

I was told that any baby that is over 9lbs 6oz is a baby of a GD mother...that means you had GD without knowing it your first pregnancy....a good way to avoid a large baby again is to do a GD diet and it will help so you or baby dont gain too much weight.

im not sure about all that size can also be genetic im not diabetic,my weight gain and bp is fine and i have had 5 normal vaginal births. they cannot give me a medical reason for a c section except the dr would feel more comfortable doing it, they even said the baby's measurments are fine.

My son was 9 lbs 15 oz. and I deff. didn't have GD. I ate healthy. I only gained 22 pounds my whole pregnancy. All of my siblings were around 9 lbs or over. My hubby was almost 9 pounds. My dad weighed 12 pounds!! It's genetic in my family. There isn't really anything that can do about it except take them early. I won't have a c-section just cuz the baby is big. My granny blessed me with her "birthing hips"

my son was 8lbs 11oz and Sam was 5lbs 12oz. I'm a small person and I had a difficult time delivering my son, but I did it without a c-section. I would talk to your dr again, or like you said find a different one.

My 3rd child was 10 lbs 6 oz. I had him vaginally. With my 4th child (Phoenix) my doc wanted to do a c-section. I ended up being induced at 37 weeks. He was 8 lbs 6 oz.
Id get a new doc if i were you.
