Twins

posted 23rd Sep '07
I've been wondering this for awhile. I don't think I'm having twins, but is it possible for somebody to be carrying twins and the doctors not even detecting it? I'm just curious if that has happened to anybody, or know somebody that happened too.

I've wondered that, too. Even with today's technology, if they could miss a hiding twin. It scares the crap out of me, the thought of it lol

i think it would be close to impossible to not find a second or even a third baby in there, but hell anything is possible right?

If they miss it at the first ultrasound, they might get it in the second one ... as for the heartbeat .. what if they have the exact same rythym?

That's what scared the crap out of me. What if it hits the same exact way, so it's not being caught? Or they are so rhythmic to each other, you don't notice that extra little person? lol It seems so farfetched, but scary at the same time lol I am hoping it hasn't happened to anyone :-P One baby at a time is enough for me! lol

The same thing scares the crap out of me. I would be happy to have twins, but that is something I need to know in advanced to plan and prepare myself for it   But I would have to say if it happens to me I would be very surprised. I guess anything is possible, and technology isn't 100 % perfect.

it can happen in fact that's what happen to me. Baby B was behind baby A. there heartbeats were almost the same so they couldnt tell that it was two. But when I was in my car wreck when i was 11weeks the doctor at the hosptial said that your babies are ok. Babies i asked and he said yes babies and showed me the screen and their it was two heartbeats. So i guess the wreck shooked baby b up and he moved. So now i'm haveing twins a boy and a girl. it's kinda strange but it happens

I was hoping soooo much that I would go to my 20 week ultrasound and they would have missed a baby before... but I'm only having one   Wish there were two in there though.
