Nursing Toddlers, tooth decay?

My daughter is 17 months and only really nurses at night, but shes up almost every hour. I noticed today that her front teeth have like, some tan splotches that won't brush off. I brush her teeth usually 2 but sometimes 1 time a day (if I forget). Does this sound like tooth decay? I'm assuming this means I have to night-wean her? Any of your nursing toddler moms have this problem? How can I make her teeth more healthy? Did you have to wean ASAP?

I'd prefer advice from nursing moms only, so it's more specific to what I'm dealing with.

Im not sure honestly. My brother was bf until 2.5, and has great teeth. I thought decay was black? It could just be a spot or discoloration
Does she drink soda or tea??

Does she say it hurts? I wouldnt wean IMO, online so far everything that I have read says nursing at night or until the child self weans is not dangerous for oral health??

Breastmilk shouldn't be causing any tooth decay. Do you know the flouride levels in your water, I know that can cause splotches on teeth.

Yes!!! I just went to the dentist with Jude and from nursing he has calcium deposits on the back of his teeth. They could lead to cavities if I dont treat them now. Try this Colgate mouth wash, and put it on her tooth brush. It wont reverse it but it will prevent it from getting worse. Its called Phos Flor.

The sugar in the breast milk could actually cause tooth decay as well. If they fall asleep nursing.

I have just never heard of an actual incident of breastmilk causing trouble. I'm willing to be it's incredibly rare. Especially it teeth are being brushed at least 2 times a day.

Well my son has it, so its definitly possible. And he gets his teeth brushed once a day. Every day.
