Quoting Daddytobe:“ you cant forget about DADDY!! and his things!!”

DH works the night shift so he's packing his own hospital bag with a change of clothes!  How cute.  I'm also planning on packing Gameboys (one for me and one for him) and an iPod with soothing music to listen to.

Don't forget the cell phone charger(s) if you plan on calling everyone or sending pictures via phone.

Quoting fairymama:“ When are you supposed to pack it?”

Depends. I was going to pack mine two weeks early, but then ended up going into labor the day I was "planning" on packing!  I would say if you are worried about it, do it 2-3 weeks before your due date.

Every time I have been to the hospital, the wipes that were provided were the dry ones that you have to run under water, after number 1 I pack those now. I also suggest packing the heavy flow overnight pads (they seem to work better than the hospital ones imo). Also anything that would make you more comftorable, a book, an Ipod, a snack... I also washed the babies cloths and my cloths in the Dreft b/c we have a history of sensitive skin. Just another thought.   Anything that is forgotten after the baby is born can be broght in by someone. We never brought our carseats in until it was time to go. They seemed to add clutter the already filled rooms. After we had our 2nd I also brought hand sanitizer for when the brother and sisters came to meet the new baby.

A lot of hospitals provide patient's with different ammenities. I would suggest asking your health care provider (midwife or doctor) what they have to offer.

Some people would rather use their own gowns, pads, underwear and socks (even if the hospital gives you them) because some find them to be very uncomfortable.

The one thing I almost forgot but just realized when showering today was a razor! I know my underarms will appreciate it  . Oh! And if you wear contacts I would suggest bringing your glasses too, because you might want to take them out at some point or another.

Congrats to everyone having babies! Very exciting!

I would possibly take wipes just in case, you can ask your doctor and they would probably know. When my best friend delivered they gave her wash cloths and told us to wet them with warm water, no wipes at all!

Im suprised nobody said breast pump yet. your gonna be tire and it wont kill daddy to help feed the baby at night while your sleeping in the hospital. It will be good for him to bond with the baby and give you some rest before your on your own

Most hospital have breast pumps that they let you use. Super nice ones lol.
But at the same time, you want to get used to yours and having a nurse to help you is always a plus, so I think this is a good idea!

Just a note....I'm gonna leave my bag in the car when I get it packed this time...with my daughter I had it all ready to go but forgot it in the rush of leaving for the hospital so my mom was nice enough to drive the 40 miles back and bring it to me
