re: Hospital Bag!

posted 23rd Jul
My biggest fear so far has been what to do if I pack her going home outfit just to get to the hospital and find out that it doesn't fit which has happened to a few of my friends before. I have so much stuff packed already (33 weeks and having early labor pains very frequently) and I am very nervous that I will forget something.

i took 2 outfits that i absolutely loved, one which was preemie size and one newborn size(over here its size 00000 and 0000) and she fits the preemie outfits i had for her, as long as they dont have legs on them lol, she has long legs, but she also fits the newborn with or without legs so i took her home in my fav one of the 2

in addition to your list...this sounds a lil wierd but was easier for me... i would pack some adult diapers. it works like the pads but you dont have to worry about the leaking and is way more comfy on your battle wounds. pair them with some granny panties and youll be set.

I'll be 32 weeks on Saturday (and I'm currently on hospital bed rest due to preterm labor) anyways, I was supposed to be in here until 34 weeks but I'm probably getting out early tomorrow @ 31.6 weeks because my cervix hasn't had much change (since they have me on procardia) and anyways, I was wondering if I get to go home tomorrow.. is tomorrow night too early to at least 'start' packing my bag? Lol.. I'm really starting to get that 'nesting' feeling

considering your situation i would pack and have it finished within 1 week of getting home. its better to be overly paranoid then not be ready in time. i went into preterm labor at 22wks and i had my bag packed at 33wks in case it happened again(i didnt have the money or stuff until 33wks)

Should I also pack a preemie outfit and a newborn size outfit, just in case I can keep her in longer then I think.. or in case she comes out bigger then expected? Just to be safe? Lol

i packed 2 preemie onesies and a preemie going-homeoutfitand she came at 37wks 7lbs 9oz and still fit the preemie outfit. i also took a pile of preemie diapers aswell as the newborn ones and she fit them too(my hospital dont provide anything)

If I were you I'd take several different kinds of drinks/snacks and sneak them when staff isn't looking. You will get hungry. You will get very, very thirsty. Labor can stall if your needs aren't met that way.
