re: Hospital Bag!

Quoting minxmango:“ I got really bored the other day and made a list of everything I need. Baby Bag: -carseat -onesies/sleepers(x3 ... [snip!] ... reader) -book -cell phone(with charger) -birth plan I realize I'm probably packing WAY too much stuff, but I always do.

i would rather be overpacked then underpacked. I packed mine last night(im 32wks tomorrow) because i just had this insane urge to do it right away and i figured why not seeing as i have all the stuff ready.... I went through every page in this thread and wrote down the things that apply to me and stuck them all in the bag. My hospital don't provide anything but cloth nappies/diapers and basic sheets to swaddle them so my bag is pretty big!

OK this was probably said somewhere in the thread, but another good item(s) to bring to the hospital, are flip flops. Especially if you're gonna be a summer mommy like me. When I went on the tour, they said it's a GREAT idea to bring that cause A) You don't have to worry about running them as much, B) You're swollen so at least your feet can breathe, and C) If it's summertime anyways, so it goes without saying.

Quoting Von Doom:“ *rolls eyes* OMG, you DO NOT need all that stuff. Believe me. I've had more kids than Angelina Joile. ... [snip!] ... you go home you'll be tired and won't want to worry about packing and unpacking a bunch of crap you never used anyway. ”

thats exactly how I feel, but some people NEED things and its because they are spoiled. I don't believe I really need anything. Some people think they need to bring their own pillows and blankets and crap...uugghh really are we THAT spoiled as a society that we can't even use hospital pillows?? Kinda sad really.

@ the hospital i had my baby @ they offered movies while waiting but honestly i had no patience to actually watch a movie... i mostly just sat there waiting and talked on my phone and to the nurses probably watched a 1/2 hour of tv all together and i was in labor for almost 24 hours (not active labor btw)

Handy things I took with me when i had my 1st baby was anticeptic wipes to wipe down the sides by your bed ect,i know hospitals provide the hand gels by the doors and are strict about cleaning but i thought it made me feel a bit better about being in hospital & also, you can never have enough maternity towels & your own yummy bottle of bubble baths nice for your bath after labour

you bleed for like up to 6 weeks after because your placenta peels off the inside of your uterus.
