Oh my fiancee Tommy loves my mom! She's helped us out since the very beginning and since his parents are jerks he thinks it's crazy that she helps so much and loves her for it. We moved in here cause we had an issue at our apartment and got kicked out and had no where to go but we also came here cause my mom has helped us tons and now she needs help so me and Tommy and my brother and his girl are all paying rent now cause my mom is going to fix up the whole house cause she wants it to be nice for her firstgrandson. We do have a lot of things in common tho and it's crazy! I actually quit my job 4 days after my birthdaycause I was sick and my boss wouldn't let me have the day off and when Tommy came home he brought a pregnancy test and I found out I was pregnant. He didn't want me working anyways lol. So I haven't worked for 6 months now. I am tired all the time and when I'm not sleeping I'm in the bathroom. There hasn't really been any swelling, my fingers swell at times and my ankels swole up once. It might start happening soon tho. Do you guys have a theme for your baby room/stuff?

yes I love the only florial or twaul and so I did pink with little vines with the buds at the ends! It was on sale at k mart! lol! I will get a pic and post it soon!

How cute, if I was having a girl I would of had a Hello Kitty theme because I think shes adorable. I didn't have a theme until my baby shower. I'm doing animals now, like elephants and giraffes and such. Tommy wanted to do his whole room Ohio State...blah...I'm into football like that so thank god he backed down.

Oh true thank god I dont have to worry about sports! My guy just likes to build stuff and is into salt water fish! When we have our boy we are going to do a fish theme I think! I would have done it for my girl but its not girly enough and so I didnt lol! And Dave just wants me to be happy, so if it makes me happy and he doesnt want to throw up and its of good quality then he dont give a shit! Wich I am so lucky to have!

You know what though I went into cookies by design place to see about having little baby cookies for favors and its like 144 dollars for 36, 3 inch cookies! Wow! I just wanted to say holly shit! lol!

Lol oh I hate sports! They are SO boring to me. I watch them to make him feel better tho. We're going to get a little Ohio State jersey and such and I'm fine with that but not a whole room and I've never been crazy about the color red, I'm sorry "scarlet" not red lol. yea I just am so over whelmed with planing the shower myself and feeling so gd tiered all the time! So I didnt want to have to decorate them but looks like I will lol! But There is so much activity going on in the belly now all the time! Its like she never sleeps anymore!

Just wanted to add that when I had my son they gave us for the baby:
Diapers
Dry wipes (like the ones described before)
Little long sleeve shirts
Blankets
Pacifiers
Formula (if formula feeding)

For Mommy:
Super Uncomfortable Diaper Like Pads  
Mesh Underwear (I found them comfy like PP Said)
Gowns (I just used these because I didn't want to get my stuff blood stained)
Breast pump (If breastfeeding)
Oil/Lotionfor your nipples as they will probably be sore.

Also wanted to add that (Here at least) everything that comes in the hospital you pay for whether or not you use it. AND when I left I took everything because if I didn't, they had to throw it out. Just my experience I dont know if it's like that everywhere. Maybe just ask the staff about it?

I would bring change of clothes, breastpads, outift for baby, carseat, nail clippers, hair ties, (If your doctor allows) Hard candy or gum or suckers, laptop (If allowed), MP3 Player or other things to keep you entertained. With my son I was in labor for 19 1/2 HOURS. So you are most likely going to want something to take your attention off of labor. I also stayed at the hospital for 2 days (vaginal birth). Also toiletries, clothes for daddy, money and wallet with insurance cards and ID (Especially for those of you who are not married, depending on your state's laws you may have to fill a paternity form out and to get it notarized you MUST have your ID). That's all I can think of right now, I'm sure I forgot something. I personally packed wayyyy too much but I'd rather have too much than not enough.

how thick of pads do you need after having a baby? How long does it take until the bleeding is like a normal period?

I suggest as thick as you can find. I would bring The long ones and about the overnight type thickness. You will bleed pretty bad for a good 4-6 weeks. It may let up to a normal like period after a couple weeks or it could stay extremely heavy. It just kind of depends on you and the delivery. I know PP already said this, but there could be some pretty disgusting looking clots coming out too.

Oh yea I know what you mean. I wanted a baby shower really bad but I didn't want to actually throw it. We had tons of game and then we couldn't decide on what food to serve and oh it was annoying. Plus we had it in Colorado Springs at my grandma's housewhich is like an hour drive from here just so my family in Florence didn't have to drive for 2 hours to get there. It all worked out great tho. We got cute and cheap decorations from Party City and all in my theme. The food was simple yet very good the games were fun and I got tons of cute things! As for the baby moving, I know what you mean with that too. He never stops as I just said in the other forum. He's kicking when I go to bed and kicking when I wake up in the morning. Go to sleep already!

hehe I am doing a co- ed bbq thing! And thank god for my soon to be mother in-law she has taken over quite a few of the things so I dont have ot worry and then dave is bbqing in the grill soI dont have to cook! lol! Just got to facilitate things! But still I am just rarr at the idea of moving and thinking and stuff! lol! I have never felt so drained in every way before! I love her and want to see her but at the same time I cant help but feel like she is a leach! and I want her gone! but then when she comes out I know it will be about the same thing just not in your body! lol! I feel horrible for feeling that way but thats the way I feel! lol!

Everyone says to bring gowns or wear the hospital gown...I usually prefer pj pants (or shorts) and a shirt because gowns tend to bunch up and twist. Do you think it's ok to bring loose comphy pj pants and a few tops?

Yea I didn't have to do too much. My mom cooked and everything and my friends helped me decorate. All I had to do was host. I was supposed to have 2 baby showers but since were now on bad terms with Tommy's parents the other one went to crap lol. It's okay, we don't need them! I actually started crying the other night to Tommy telling him I don't want to be pregnant anymore. That I was tired of the bachache and the heartburn and the swelling and having to pee every two minutes and I hated it! I told him I can't get any bigger that it's physically impossible and that he needs to take over from here. I know that in the end though it will all be worth it. You will look at that tiny little human being you created and the 9 months of crap you had to go through will all be a faint memory.
