can a 2 pound baby survive?

27 weeks, I think is when a baby reaches 2 pounds, mine is about 9 days behind where she should be, so I am always going crazy with numbers... Just wondering if her chances would be ok.. I know 4 or 5 pounds would be amazing!

they can...why would u ask are you having complications? My GF devlivered her daughter at 25 weeks she was 1lb 7oz when she was born

Yes I had a 2 lb baby and I saw babies less than that size survive, and my baby is just fine, why do you want to know?

My friend was supposed to be born in May and he was born in Jan. He was barely over a pound....now hes 6'4" and he's a big boy!

it would be in the hospital for months, but yes...well, hopefully.

It's possible if they're a fighter, or just REALLY healthy in general.

yeah, I've heard of mothers with a litter in there going into labor at like 26, 27 weeks and their babies surviving.

are you having issues with pre term labor?

It has a good chance with good medical assistance.

My grandma was born weighing 1 pound. They kept her in a cigar box in the oven. Such a cool story!

Weight isn't really the best indicator of a child's circumstance at birth. My daughter was born at 28 weeks and my son at 29 weeks and they are both amazing.

One pound babies can survive these days. Anything is possible.

Yes. My Husband's brother was 1lb 13oz when he was born at 29 weeks. He is 12 years old now. Look at the Duggar family's new arrival. She was barely over a pound when born at just 25 weeks and she is doing well for now.
