Pain.... Help!!!

posted 20th Sep '07
Ok, So I went to the doctor yesturday he is going to induce on Tuesday. That will be the babys due date. He is doing it so my husband can be home for the babys birth before he deploys...

Well on Monday I had my bloody show... I have been continuing to have it, the doctor said its fine. I went to the hospital Tuesday, but I was only 1cm. They sent me home. Later that night I staterted having contractions, but far.. far apart. So yesturday I went to the doctor he checked me and im only 1cm. My cervix is still long and thick, but my hips are so... so... sore. Then last night the baby has put so much pressure between my hips it's hurts to even walk.

So my question.....

Has anyone ever had this pain where it hurts to even move, and that it come and goes. This pain when I move to much it hurts bad, but I also want to push, but I only have the pain down in my lower abdomen not up high. So can anyone telling me what I am having?

sounds like ur body is preparing for impending labor .. the baby's head has probably engaged into position, based on ur comment of increased pelvic pressure and the urge for pushing. the joint pain is from the hormone relaxin (yup thats what it is called! *lol*) which loosens ur joints - especially the joint between ur pubic bones that will enable the baby to pass thru more easily. ur cervix may also be changing or having mild contractions - feels like menstrual cramps? sorry for all the discomfort you are experiencing - unfortunately this is normal. if u are still concerned u can always call ur OB. good luck!

Thank you so much for replying... That's what my mom was telling me, but I wanted to make sure. I guess mothers are always right... Does that mena I could be dilating more?

By the way is that a picture of you and your daughter... So, so, co cute!

Dilating more .. hard to tell .. only can be determined by a physical exam. when is ur next appt? u can have cervical discomfort caused by the increased pressure of the fetal head but no change in status. i remember the final few days of pregnancy w/ my first daughter .. was zero percent dilated / effaced - my 'cervix of steel' at work *lol* but it sure felt like it was going to fall out!

and yes that is a pix of my 2-year old daughter and myself. thank you!!

the only way to tell if ur dialting is to actually have an exam.... i thought that SOMETHING had to be going on cuz i'd get the sharp pains in my crotchal region! and i'd be getting cramps too... which my doctor told me are both signs of dilating and effacing.... well i'm not dilated at all (fingertip isn't aything) but i've effaced to 75%..... but after a week and a half it hadn't changed even tho i'd had more pain down there then ever......

labor dust to you and good luck with your incution!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yesh ma'am!

I read about it last night, its the baby hitting nerves. It's like a shooting pain coming up from your inner thighs (by the pelvic bone) towards your vajayjay right?

Your story sounds a lot like Liizx22's. She had her bloody show for the longest time & she wasn't progressing AT ALL.

Her due date is today & she was scheduled to be induced tomorrow, her water broke this morning & she's giving birth now!

So hopefully the same will happen for you, good luck!
