Attached Upper Lip Frenulum ?

Does anyone have an LO with this?
I'm like 97% sure Aiden has it..
and I'm not sure what the first thing to do is, call his pedi? What will they do?
Will this affect his speech or anything?

His KIND OF looks like this..
but it is attached to the lip all the way... like to the tip/front of his lip.

That website does say that if its not taken care of it COULD effect his speech and maybe a speech therapist would be used later.. I dunno tho.

Yep my son has it, and my husband works at a pediatric dentist office/is a dental student.

Its fine. Most of the time it separates on its own...which will look like a murder scene.

If not, they will just clip it.

My nephew has that, but it's very mild. The doctor actually told my SIL that he will fall one of these days and it will most likely bust itself. lol. I always tease her about pushing him. He said if it doesn't, and does cause problems then they will cut it. But it's not really bad.

My youngest Ayla does. The dentist said it won't affect speech but when she's older it'll need to be clipped and she'll be fitted with braces.

yeah, well he has done it twice (and pretty bad both times) and it isnt like cut or anything.. like it is, but its still all the way attached.

My son has it pretty bad, It made a gap between his front teeth.
He also has a tongue tie, they will probably both be clipped at the same time if and when it starts to affect his speech or feeding

I was tongue tied, thats why i wanted to know if he got this from me..  
how old is your LO?

it can be genetic, i was tongue tied too.
He is almost 17 months. He also has a full range of midline 'deformities' he has metopic synostosis that was operated on last week. Attached frenulum, tongue tie. reflux and a deep sacral dimple.
