i like the gerber snacks   the fruit leathers, the fruit and yogurt bars, the granola bars. and it has no preservatives, so i feel better about giving her that than normal fruit snacks or granola bars.

oh and I like the yogurt melts lol. we keep them just in case. I take coloring books and stuff when we go where she'll have to sit still for a while but sometimes a snack is in order. and those are quick and easy and when on sale, cheap

We have used the fruit leathers and the yogurt drops too.   We just buy organic fruit leather from the store now though.

My boys are BIG snackers! I always have at least 3 different snacks in the diaper bag along with a few books. They will usually flip through their books and snack while I shop or we are waiting around somewhere.

we have sucky selection for organic food in our store and it's hard with the one vehicle to go far for groceries that are natural.

Don's schedule has been so insane we've had a lOT of convenience food and I feel really guilty about the stuff we're putting into our bodies but with the dog and Lydia and pregnancy it was hard for me to really cook...we are getting bakc on track...slowly but surely

Lydia is some days and some days she is not. It just depends on her mood.

oh my LO is going to be nine months in three days. DO you just buy regular fruit leathers like at trader joes and cut them up or what?

I don't even cut it up! He pretty much only takes bites that are safe. He has only choked on a pickle slice (the rind I think) and a small piece of peach.
I find that giving him the bigger part tends to let him take bites off that are a good size for him, instead of prepicking the size myself. KWIM?

Lydia eats fruit better whole (I peeled apples until recently) than if I cut it. If I cut it she chokes because she assumes she can just swallow it (silly girl) where if she bites it off, she knows she has to chew.

I still peel his apples, he has trouble with skins/rinds/etc.
