Hello. My name is Lisa and my son was born 12 days ago at 32 weeks and 4 days. He was growth restricted due to faulty placenta and only weighed 2 lbs. 11 oz and measured 16 inches so very close to your daughters birth weight and exact length. I was just wondering how many days your daughter was in NICU. My son is 12 days old and now weighs 3 oz more than his birth weight. I know every baby is different but was just wondering how fast/how much your daughter gained and how long I could possibly expect for him to be in the NICU. Thanks. Lisa

I just want to gloat for a sec..... we hit a milestone. Aeris sat up unsupported for about 3 minutes today! She is 8 months tomorrow!

Wow...your story sounds very similar to mine...I know how you feel...my son was born 8/28 at 32 weeks 4 days but only weighed 2 lbs 11 oz due to growth restriction from a faulty placenta that gave me pre-eclampsia which I had about 2 weeks before they delivered me b/c the blood flow in his umbilical cord was not continuous (as it had been before) and the amniotic fluid was getting low again (I was hospitalized a couple of weeks before b/c of low amniotic fluid...it had gotten down to 2.6 cm) and the blood flow in his brain was having some backflow. Sorry for rambling on but it does feel good to "tell your story" at least it does for me. Is your daughter home now? My son is 2 weeks old and is only up 3 oz from his birth weight. It seems like it is going to take FOREVER for him to gain up to 4 lbs. He is not allowed to come home until he is 4 lbs. Otherwise he is doing very well. Off all IV's and breathing room air.

Just wondering if anyone knows how to show on here that your baby is already born...instead of continuing to show how many weeks pregnant you are...my baby was due Oct. 19th but was born August 28.

My 5mo old. He was a 35 weeker. I'm so proud of him. He had a brother, born at 28wks before him, that lost his battle to NEC. I'm so blessed to have him. I just keep thinking, when one door closes, another one opens.
