losing weight...

My doctors dont seem to be concerned, they actually laugh when I come in and weigh in every time even, but I have lost a lot of weight since I became pregnant. I was around 165 when I concieved, and I am only 5'2", so that is over weight, I know. But At my last appointment I am under 145 now. I havent been under 150 in a looong time. (And I did the whole diet and exercise thing, I just could never lose it)
Now dont get me wrong, I was eating BAD before. Fast food was a staple for me. (I was remodling my moms new house, so I didnt have time to eat better, nor a stove and refrigerator to use. LOL) SO when I found out, I of course started eating better, but I could barely get 5 pounds off in a month before by eating better and exercise, and now I have lost over 20 with just eating right? It seems off to me, but I know weight loss in the begining is common.
So my question is did anyone else lose THIS much? And did you doctor seem upset or worried when you did? (I found out when I was 6 weeks and I am now just over 12, so its only been like 6 weeks of eating right)

I lost about 20 pounds during my 1st trimester and half of my second. I gained 40 during the last... So you might gain it back. My doctor said it's normal to lose weight during the begining. During the end is usually when you gain it back.

Well I weighed 245 before I got pregnant, and now I weigh 238. The nurse had actually thought her scale was off at my last appt because I had lost 4lbs. The doctor said he doesn't want me to go over 250 for my entire pregnancy. That's only 5lbs over my pre-pregnancy!! But I'm not worried about losing weight. I know my baby is getting the nutrients it needs. I'm just losing fat. The doctor says I'm completely healthy and the baby has a good heartbeat. But like you said, I'm not eating all of the junk I ate before. I actually crave healthier foods. I just need to step up the excercise.

I too am 5'2 and i lost over 25 lbs in the first trimester before i stopped weighing cos it was depressing (i started at about 145)
I am still below my pre pregnancy weight and am unlikely to go over it before my due date. My brother jokes that it has been the best diet ever
As long as you are healthy and feel ok its not too much of an issue.

I lost 10 lbs and I was slim to begin with (5'3 and 123, my lowest was 113!!). My mother's my midwife and she told me the reason's for weight loss were morning sickness, being more consious about your diet, and your metabolism also picks up (your baby's taking all of your food! It's almost like having a tapeworm!), plus I'm sure a change in hormones has something to do with the process. Think of it as more of a blessing than worrying about it. You're body is becoming more healthy in order to provide you and your baby with a healthy pregnancy!!

A lot of time when women get pregnant they eat better and that in itself can cause you to lose alot of weight. It is not a bad thing if your no too skinny and your baby is healthy
