Jackson Alexander is here! Labor

posted 13th Mar '10
Hola ladies. I'm in the hospital right now and doing fan freaking tastic!

Yesterday my husband was working overtime at his job and wasn't even supposed to be home until way late, so I was on BG.. lol
I started timing contractions at about 7 with contraction master, but they were like 9 minutes apart and not too painful. Well this continues for about 45 minutes when I hear my husbands Jeep pull into the driveway and the garage door being opened. I get all excited and lean forward to put my laptop on the table when it happened.. my water broke.. all over the couch.. LOL
I seriously thought I peed myself, it was disgusting. I felt my leg and it was all the way down my thigh.. at that point I knew. I threw open the garage door and screamed to Luke "AHAHA MY WATER JUST BROKE!! AHAHAHA".
By 8 pm we were in the car and on the way to the hospital. My hospital has a policy in which you cant eat while you're in labor so I made my husband stop at Taco Bell! hehe
I was stuffing my face with tacos, while my water was gushing all over the damn car.. I'm awesome.
I got to the hospital and the nurse told me "well.. I don't know if we can keep you because it might not be your water" WTF.. My pants were SOAKED.. entirely soaked. The water wasn't even clear, it was mucousy and white.
Well of course the amniotic fluid samples came back positive and they admitted me. lol
So I was laboring in the bed from about 8:45 until about 10:00. Completely natural. They did make me get a hep line though just in case. At around 10:00am I couldn't stand it anymore and I got into the Jacuzzi tub. The pain was unbearable and the contractions were about 30 seconds apart. I also felt insane pressure every time I had a contraction so the nurses made me get out so they could check me. I was at a 6cm (I was at a 4 before my water broke) and so I labored some more in the bed. I was in so much pain, it was insane. I was screaming out and scaring my family haha. Not even 45 minutes later I started feeling even worse pressure so they checked me again, I was at a 7-8 cm. More hospital bed laboring.. I couldn't stand the pain enough to get up and walk around. Finally at around midnight I NEEDED to push. I couldn't not push, so the nurses called my doctor in. My nurse checked me and I was at a 9.5 with a little bit of lip on the side. I started pushing at about 12:20 when my doctor arrived and he was born at 12:29.
About 9 minutes of pushing and about 3 hours of active labor.. yes, 3 hours. LOL
I went completely natural and I would tell anyone that it's 100% worth it. I felt everything, It was amazing.
Around 9 cm though, I lost my will to continue and screamed my head off for an epidural lmao. The nurses just kind of looked at me.. I was screaming for something, the pain was so intense. I didn't get anything though, I was too far dilated.

Jackson was born on exactly his due date at 7lbs 3 oz, 19.6 inches long with a head FULL of hair. I don't think I've ever seen more hair on a baby.

I have more/ better pictures later when I can get them from my camera. These are from my sisters phone.
He's also BF like a pro, no latch problems at all. Only problem is he eats every 10 minutes for a good 20 minutes. lol

Yeah so very, very very happy for you and your family of boys! Don't let the testosterone take over! lol

I tried to go natural with my last 2 and ended up gettting shots of some drug, it helped but conveniently wore off when it came time to push. YEAH for pushing for only 9 minutes! You're a pro! When it came time to push for me I was like, LET'S get this smurf done!!!

He's a handsome fellow, can't wait to see more pix

The nurses tried to give me pain meds earlier in my labor lol.
I didn't want to give up at 7 cms.

That was definitely my situation with my last, I think the nurses were sick of hearing me yell so they wanted to drug me to shut me up lmfao. Go get your rest momma! xoxox

YAY!!

That's funny because I was up feeding 333 and I looked at the clock at 3:30 and thought "I wonder if Stephanie had Jackson yet" ... when at that moment you were just pushing him out, haha
