My prediatrician said it was okay for me to give him some cereal if he will take it. He loves it.

Honestly, it can lead to obesity. Cereal for a baby that young is really a bad idea unless its for reflux.

I have read all of this. He has had it more than 10 times with no adverse reaction.

Why are you willing to risk that?

Best thing to do in this instance--ignore it.

She knows what she is doing has the potential for adverse reaction, but it is her own choice. It will be her fault if her child ends up with problems.

How many times do we see threads with people feeding their child cereal so young, and they just get all defensive and say it's their choice? It's true. Obviously they feel like they are making the right decision for their child. She says she's done the research. What can you do to change her mind? Pretty much nothing.

That being said, if people are going to have a problem with this, take it to TDC. Also, please (other members) do NOT think that giving your child cereal so young is the right thing to do. Do the research and follow your OWN instincts.

I know and his pedi know what is best for him.
None of the "risks" run in my or my husband's family.

My kid is not and "it" and I wake when he wakes. I would never use cereal to have him sleep longer.
