could be.

Cora went from Enfamil with Iron, to Gentlease, and then to Simliac Alimentum (hypoallergenic). It has made a world of difference. She rarely spits up, is almost totally off of her Zantac and doesn't make that awful sour face anymore.

Hi! Im new to this board...just found it last night, and had a couple of questions! My son is 3 months old and still is eating every 2 hours, usually 2-4 oz. (sometimes a little more). I have read the charts, I just worry that he is eating too much! Also, he has been REALLY gassy and is seems to hurt him when he farts, so we switched him from the regular Similac to the sensitive Similac (still milk-based but lactose free). Do you think this is ok...now that I have fed him a bottle of it, I am worried I should have asked first! Please help!

Cora started on Stage 2 nipples when she was about 8-9 weeks old. It was taking her 45 minutes to drink 4 oz and she was getting so frustrated by it.

I think they say usually around 3-4 months though...

Your right about the feedings......if it takes them a long time to drink the bottle, then I would switch. Audrey isn't ready yet, but I can tell I will be switching soon. I am about to start using the bigger bottles too, but will put stage 1 nipples in them.

I tried the stage 2 nipples.. Carter joked a lot when I used them, so I'm just gonna buy stage 1 nipples n use them in the big bottles for now..

Hi everyone. My daughter is 3 weeks old, and shes VERY gassy. I burp her A LOT but shes still fussy and cries all the time. We're using the Playtex Drop Ins and feeding her 3 oz every 3 hours. I give her Mylicon drops but sometimes they dont really make much of a difference. I was wondering what i could do to reduce her gassiness? BTW- shes eating Similac Advance w/ iron. I've asked the dr about changing her formula thinking that could be the problem, but she doesn't think its neccessary. She also has slight reflux issues but lately they've been getting better and her gas has been getting worse.

Any advice? Should i maybe put the Mylicon drops in her formula at EVERY feeding? Should i switch bottles? Formula?

My son is 6 months old.. and was a gassy lil dude.. I still put Mylicon drops in every bottle.. I swear I should own stock in that company!
As for switching formula, thats something you def. wanna talk to her pedi about..
If you think its her bottles causing gas, maybe buy one bottle of another type and see how that goes.. I can only use the Playtex VentAire with Logan..
Good Luck!

And what does that mean? I meant I could not follow those charts because she eats so much, not that I could not figure it out.

I don't know if that's what was being implied. But my experiences have been, when discussing how much to feed baby ( even on other boards) people will jump on you for feeding your kid cereal earlier than the AAP recommends.

If it makes you feel better, midnightsunpm, my son is almost 3 weeks and eats 6oz about every 3 hours... He was 11lb7oz at birth though. I wouldn't necessarily say I'm overfeeding, he eats what and when he wants. But, for his AGE alone, yeah its too much.

I also wonder, however, my son is bigger, but otherwise developing normally. I'm in no rush to introduce solids, and in fact, I'd rather hold off if I can. But that being said, where do you draw the line when it comes to how much formula they drink?

The reason I ask, is, I haven't found much on the web about caring for LGA babies, as it is so rare, and I understand that his size doesn't mean his tummy is ready for solids sooner. But if I wait until 6 months, heck, even 4 months, he might be up to 60-70 in a day. LOL, there ought to be a chart for big kids!
