The first thing I bought after getting home from the hospital was mylicon drops!! I think T.C. has a serious problem w/ gas because he cries so much... however my mom thinks he is just a grumpy baby.

Thanks for all the replies, I guess I'll just try a bunch and see which one works.

Thanks again.

I looked for those drops at Wal-Mart and couldn't find them. Where are they? In the baby section, pharmacy, or what?

I would assume in the baby section, that's where they are at Target. They are just a teeny box though, so you could very easily be overlooking them. Try looking where they have children medicines. If you can't find them, ask the pharmacist. They are a lifesaver, I think. I put them in every bottle during the day. And he's not had a true gas problem since we started using them.

Yay for the bottle feeding sticky!!!!! I also am bottle feeding our 3rd, plus helped with my baby brother who I'm 17 years older than, so lots of experiance here too. I never did use the less expencive formulas, my doctor always said to wait till they're 6 months old to do any of the other kinds, and by then they're already used to the first brand, so I don't really want to go through the fuss of switching them at that point. Anyway Destin's on Enfamil with Iron with Lipil. He's the first I've put on Lipil, because it wasn't around with my first and without was cheaper with my second, but they don't carry that here anymore so it's all good.

Anyway, when we go out we just take a can of powder and an empty bottle in the diaperbag. If Destin gets hungry we just make it up in the bathroom real quick. If we were doing the expressed milk thing though I wouldn't worry about just makeing up a couple bottles and stickng them in the diaper bag at room temp. With a lid on they'll be fine for trips to town.

Oh and LOVE the chart. I have on up on my fridge. You would be amazed at what you forget between kids   and I have had that chart up for each of them. Takes a lot of guess work out. Even though Destin pretty much eats and entire 8oz bottle in one sitting about 5times a day. Pretty good for 2 1/2 months...

Yay! It's good to have some women on here that have experience formula feeding! I know that so far, Max is doing great with the Enfamil AR. It has changed his poop quite a bit (made it harder) but we have combated that by adding a teeny bit of juice to his 1st bottle of the day.

And that chart saved me when we 1st switched to formila. It's not like any parenting class (or even many books) tells you how much to feed your baby when you aren't breastfeeding.

Warning this question may be very dumb! lol

K....so I have a Medela pump and I got some breastmilk freezer bags with it. I ran out. I'm sure it's fine to use regular ziplock baggies right?? I only ask because I'm wondering if the Medela bags are made thicker or differently?
Thanks!!

I've read that you should only use bm storage bags, because they are thicker and have less chance of contamination, but I don't have a reference for that offhand...

Oh wow! Good to know!! Here I was thinking that I was asking a really silly question. But if we may be dealing with contamination... phew, glad that I asked! Thanks!!

Do you need some bm bags? I have a whole box (25 I think) of Gerber's that I never used.
And your question was not silly. It was a good question!
