Breastfeeding mommas

When did your little one get teeth and was it painful to breastfeed??

I think my LO is going to cut teeth early. She is almost 5 months and I think she may be teething. What advice do you have when she does start cutting teeth??

TIA

To be honest it can hurt. I made it through though! Once they get a little more used to their teeth it gets easier.
If she bites just pull her off. Jack caught on pretty quick. Biting=no boob.

My daughter started biting when she got a few teeth.. The best thing that worked for me is pinching her nose and NOT freaking out. Freaking out can do one of two things, Make her think it is a game.. or scaring her into a nursing strike.

At 4 months my son had 4 teeth, but every time he bit down, I took him off the breast and said NO firmly. And if he did it again during that feeding, the feeding ended. He got the hint very fast. Now at 23 months, 20 teeth later, he doesn't bite and it doesn't hurt.

My son is 18 months and has 12 teeth. It feels different but no it doesnt hurt. He has only bit me accidently once or twice.

Yea I read that when they bite you to unlatch them and tell them NO each time and they should catch on. Im just afraid my LO will find it funny. She usually giggles when I say NO in a stern (sp.?) voice.

That's what my daughter did. Lol She found it a game when I told her no. But pinching her nose (just enough to close her nostrils) made her unlatch and I'd sit her up and tell her no. A few minutes later I'd try again. She got the point quickly.

Don't smile or anything, keep a straight face, you'll be surprised how much she actually
comprehends.

LO has 4 teeth (2 top and 2 bottom) and 4 more coming in, he's almost 10 months. Breastfeeding can be painful sometimes. I've cried even. But If he's biting I blow in his face so he lets go and I pull my boob away and say No don't bite ... he hasn't biten me in a while (knock on wood) GL!

still nursing my one year old... he's got 8 teeth. I was lucky, he caught on pretty quick... i only got bitten 2 times. Thats all it took.... each time, i said NO, took the boob away, let him cry. He learned real fast, biting equals no boobby..... and that was when he was like 4 months old!! He still doesn't bite. Sometimes his tongue moves down when he's very sleepily nursing and his teeth start to grind on the bottom of my nipple. At that point he's passed out anyway and i just un latch him.
