there have been a few posts about this lately if you weed through this area and FFA. But a few that I really like are baby bingo and the one where you have to remember all the stuff on the tray and then write it all down. It's a great way for mama to get little things that she might need that aren't any fun to buy!

I just had my shower this past week and the game that everyone had the most fun with was taking a paper plate and putting it on their head then using the other hand to draw a baby. But, someone (in this case, my mom) decided what parts were drawn when (left leg then head, then right arm, etc.). Everyone had fun with it, and afterwards we showed the pics off and picked a "winner" that looked most like a baby!

We also froze little babies (you can get em at craft stores like michaels or a.c.moore) into ice cubes and gave each person a cup of water and a ice cube (w/baby). Who ever's "water broke" first, allowing the baby to be "born" won.

Then we had a word scrabble of all baby related words - which was actually pretty tough!

We also had a diaper raffle for a prize.

At my sisters shower (that I organized) we handed out blank bingo cards and everyone filled in their board with items they thought mom would open, then they could check one box per gift (so one person couldnt get bingo by listing all their gifts in a line).

And the dirty diaper game - I made small felt "diapers" and wiped some chocolate syrup inside one, then passed one to each guest - the person with the dirty diaper won!

Also, we gave a gift to the person who gave the 7th gift that mom-to-be opened - I found some superstition that that was the person who would have a baby next! (like the throwing of the bouquet of baby showers). Weird thing was it was a pregnant girl that "won," and she had only told a couple people she was pregnant (lol). She was convinced someone outted her!

I think there were more, but it was 2 years ago and I forget!

Well im having a co-ed shower so we are playing games men might enjoy too.

Theres one where you melt like chocolate candy on diapers and blindfold everyone and have them lick it off the diapers...and guess which flavor they got.

Then im having a boy...so theres one where all the people who arent playing get a squirt gun and the players have to diaper a baby the quickest...but with people squirting them...since it is a boy...and well boys squirt. lol

Theres one where you have to drink juice out of a baby bottle....but theres something different about each bottle...like one has a tiny hole...one has a normal hole...then one has no whole at all and see who wins...

Then were also having a table with a baby book and everyone is going to scrapbook a page for the baby and write something for us to read afterwards....

GOOD LUCK!!!

A game my friend did at her baby shower is called "Break The Water" what you do is you need to go to a party store and get little minature passifiers or anything that would subsitute it work great. You also need ice treys you feel up the ice treys with water and put the little pacifers in them. Freeze the ice, and when its time to play the game you would need 1 miniture cup filled with water for everybody that is playing. You put one ice cube that has the baby pacifier in it in each cup, whoever "Water breaks the first" is the winner.

1. Pick 10 or so words related to babies and scramble the letters. Photocopy the scrambled words on a sheet of paper for each party attendee. Give a time limit of about 5 minutes for each person to try to unscramble the words. Here is a sample of 20 words to get you started (some easy, some hard).
Sitbenas Searance Raxbont Kisch Treesbidganef Irnbhgit Moro
Bassinet Cesarean Braxton Hicks Breastfeeding Birthing Room
Raragice Peidar Kirgonc Hicar Yabb Gnisw Gapar Sett
Carriage Diaper Rocking Chair Baby Swing Apgar Test
Licoc Rupb Raprengdtasn Tspi Pu Webnonr
Colic Burp Grandparents Spit Up Newborn
Tolbet Akeblnt Ditmnhig Nesegfid Declra Goconi
Bottle Blanket Midnight Feedings Cradle Cooing

2. Give each guest a "paper plate" and a crayon, have them place the plate on top of their heads and draw a baby. They laugh like crazy. Let mom pick the best and if their is a grandma she can pick the worst (if fortunate enough to have both grandmas let them each pick one.). Makes for great pictures. Happy Birthing!!!!!
3. Baby Memory – Tray with baby items – 60 second to remember all
4. Clothes pin game – Everyone gets a clothespin when they arrive if they cross their legs you can take it.
5. Cotton Balls in bowl game – place bowl on head and put cotton balls in bowl with a spoon while blind folded.
6. Fill diapers with baby food and have each guest smell the diaper an guess what kind. – 4 or 5 different foods
7. Place a Bow or mark on 2 chairs and the person sitting in chair wins a prize.
8. Guess how many jelly beans in the jar – then person who comes closest wins.
9. Finish the Baby Rhyme: (Materials- baby rhyme game or a book containing the rhymes). Have the host read out loud a part of the rhyme to be finished by the other women. Let's see how many Baby Shower Guests can finish the following Rhymes we have all grown up with:

1) Mary had a little lamb, it's _____________ was white as snow.

2) Baa, baa, black sheep, have you any _____________?

3) Mary, Mary, quite _____________, how does your garden grow?

4) Rub-a-dub-dub, three men in a tub, and how do you think ____________ _____________ ____________?

5) Pat-a-cake, pat-a-cake, _________________ ________________!

6) Little Jack Horner, sat in a corner, eating his ______________ pie;

7) Little Miss Muffet, sat on a tuffet, eating her ________________ and _______________.

Peter Piper picked a peck of ____________ _____________.

9) One, two, buckle my shoe, three four, _____________ at the door.

10) Peter, Peter, pumpkin-eater, had a wife but couldn't ____________ her.

11) Old Mother Hubbard, went to the _______________.

12) There was an old woman, who lived in a _______________.

13) Jack Sprat could eat no fat, his wife could eat no ___________.

14) Hey diddle, diddle, the ____________ and the fiddle.

15) Rock-a-bye baby, on the __________________.

Here are the answers below to the questions. It is great to give the winner a baby shower small gift for participating. Read the answers that people have put out loud since you will have some funny ones.

1) fleece 2) wool 3) contrary 4) they got there 5) Baker's man
6) Christmas 7) curds, whey   pickled peppers 9) knock 10) keep
11) cupboard 12) shoe 13) lean 14) cat 15) treetop
10. Birth of a Baby:
Freeze tiny plastic dolls in an ice cube tray. As you hand out refreshments (all at the same time), put one baby ice cube in each drink. The first ice cube to melt and "birth" the baby wins. Let guests know that they cannot touch the ice cube to help it melt. This is a good game to play as the mom-to-be is opening her gifts. *Note: to make sure that the doll is frozen evenly, first fill the tray's cups half full of water. Place doll in and freeze. After frozen, fill the cup up to the top. Freeze again.
Preparations: buy tiny baby dolls to place in ice cube tray, have refreshments for guests. We have found some tiny plastic baby dolls at: http://www.babyshowerrack.com/plasbabparfa.html
